Relocated [PRIVATE: SnowyCheetah and TheWhistlerify]

Postby TheWhistlerify » January 16th, 2011, 6:42 pm

This is a private role play between me and SnowyCheetah.

Storyline: A lion and a lioness who don't even come from the same pride are being taken by humans and relocated overseas. The two are brought to a range of mountains which are always frozen and are definitely not a place for lions to live at.

Characters (Only 2 characters for now):

Dakari (Male lion - TheWhistlerify) Profile: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9100&p=180388#p180388
Mbali (Lioness - SnowyCheetah) Profile: viewtopic.php?f=38&t=13829
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was all unclear. All Dakari could remember was wandering around on his own like he had been doing in the past four months when everything around him began to get dizzy. A few moments after the dizzyness came over him he suddenly dropped down and became completely unable to move. Ever since that moment all he could recall was seeing wierd, two-footed creatures approach him before everything went black.

It was probably a matter of hours before consciousness began coming back to him. Everything around him was still disorganized when he opened his eyes. All he could tell was that he was in a place with no sun and that there was a really loud noise all around him. Maybe he was in a cave and it was raining outside? That was the least worst option he had in mind, which he had a hard time believing in after remembering the creatures from before.

He tried to get up, or at least get a look at what was around him, but his body refused to obey him. It was probably the weirdest and scrariest feeling a wild animal like himself could go through. Being on your own for quite a long time, being somehow put to sleep by some creatures you've never encountered before and then waking up in the strangest place was definitely frightening.

The half-conscious male could do nothing but to continue to lie down at the exact same place and stare at the exact same spot of what seemed to be a cave's wall. But as he became more and more aware of what was going around him, he suddenly began to feel as if he was somehow moving, which was making absolutely no sense since he could tell that he himself wasn't doing anything.

All of a sudden, he could tell that whatever it was that was carrying him stopped moving. The loud noise also ceased, which for some reason only caused him to become even more scared than he already was. He was still unaware that there was also a lionesses there with him in the back of the human's vehicle in which they were carried that entire time.

Suddenly the truck's doors opened, and Dakari's eyes widened as the same creatures from before appeared once more. Two of them walked into the truck, one bent over next to him and the other went behind him and over to the lioness, who's presence was still unknown to the terrified male. The human looked him in the eye for a moment, before saying something to the others of his species, which caused more of them to enter the truck.

Dakari forced himself to move, but not matter how hard he tried his body just didn't react to anything that he tried to do. The humans' hands reached out for him, and he was sure that this meant death. But to his surprise, all they did was lift him up, before carrying him outside and slowly putting him down. He could see little of what was outside of the truck. What he managed to recognise was mountains, but they weren't brown as the mountains around where he once lived. Those mountains were made of some kind of white ground..

A few moments after that the humans placed the lioness down infront of him, which caused him to be completely confused. Who was she? Maybe the weird creatures brought her there just like they've done with him? The only question now was why? She seemed unable to move just like he was, and he wondered whether she was awake like him, which he couldn't tell since the humans placed her with her back turned against him.

It was another minute or two before the humans went out of sight. Dakari could hear the truck's engine start up again, before the sound of it began to grow weaker and weaker, untill he couldn't hear it anymore. He tried once again to rise, but all he could manage was move his legs a little and move from his side to his stomach. He wanted to say something to the lioness, anything at all, but his head ached like hell and his muzzle did not move.

Mbali had been half-asleep through the entire trip. All she remembered was that, during a meal with her family, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her flank and fell on her face. Her family freaked oh as humans grabbed her and took her away, unable to speak back to them as her muscles were all unresponsive to her wishes. She then fell into a half-awake, half-dream state. Everything that happened, from the truck rides to the airplane trip, was a blur, filled with halluscinations from her drug-induced dreams.

She woke, and could not move. It was rather confusing. She felt nothing restraining her; no mud on her paws, no vines on her legs, no branches in the way. She only felt cold. She smelt another lion nearby, but could only move her toes a bit in attempts to rise to her cold feet, before falling into a deep sleep, as her body slowly recovered from the strange state the drug had put it into.

Dakari, still down on his stomach, suddenly noticed the pale-coated lioness try to get up. He once again wanted to say something to her, but before he could even try she flopped back down. After that she didn't move at all, and it was easy for Dakari to understand since he was in the exactly same situation. Now that he was able to move a little bit, he took some time to look all around him. They seemed to be right in the middle of nowhere. Almost everything was white, and the only thing that attracted the male's attention was a forest about a hundred yards away.

After another short while, he began feeling his legs and entire body again. That was when he realised that whatever sort of ground he was lying on, was really, really cold. What sort of animal could ever live in such a place, he had no idea. He managed to get to his feet after several attempts, and the first thing he did was slowly walking over to the un-conscious lioness. He stumbled and fell at least twice on the way, but eventually he arrived next to her. She did seem to be asleep, like he had suspected, so he decided to try and wake her up, perhaps she had an idea what was going on. "Miss?" he asked, gently nudging her shoulder with his muzzle.

Mbali could feel Dakari nudging her, and faintly hear his voice as he spoke to her, but was more or less stuck in a dream state. Twisted, muddled thoughts and imaginary events went on inside her head as her mind struggled to overcome the drug that was putting it to sleep. After a few minutes, she finally woke up, weak but once again mobile.

She rose to her paws, struggling to keep her balance as she felt the frigid snow beneath her pads. "Wh-what is this..." she said weakly, lifting one paw to look at the snow stuck to its pads, before quickly putting it back on the ground as she found she was too weak to balance on three legs at the moment. "Who are you?" she asked Dakari worriedly, not yet sure if he was friend or foe. She knew she wouldn't be able to fight back if he decided to attack her.

Dakari sat down where he was and decided to wait a little untill the lioness woke up. When the barely-conscious female rose to her paws, Dakari figured it would be best if he waited a little bit before saying anything else. He wasn't too surprised to hear and see the rather worried tone and expression the lioness carried. He would be probably feeling the same sort of apprehension, that was in case he hadn't seen the humans carry the lioness a few minutes ago. But now that he have, he knew that they were both pretty much in the same position.

Realising that the lioness was obviously quite shaken up by everything that had happened and by this stranger's present, which was him, Dakari slowly got up and took a few steps away, trying to show her that he meant no harm. He figured it would be best if he told her that he and she had been through the same experience in the past few hours. "They took you too?" he felt like it would be better to ask it rather than just state it, "Those wierd looking creatures, with that poison or whatever it was?"

"They? You too? Yes... they took me too." Mbali replied timidly, realizing that the other lion was friend, not foe. "Poison?" she asked, "You mean, something made me sleep, it wasn't just me?"

Mbali sat, feeling dizzy already from the exerted energy of standing up. She looked around, seeing only a white wasteland full of cold powder that stuck to her paws and turned to water. She leaned down and sniffed it, noticing that it did the same thing on her nose. "What is this...?" she asked, forgetting for a moment that Dakari was in the same situation as she was. "Oh right... you're stuck here, too." she said, discarding her question, realizing he would not be able to answer. A tear came to her eye as she remembered her family, who was probably worried sick about her, and who she could no longer see whenever she wanted. She craved comfort, being so uprooted, and laid her chin on Dakari's shoulder, forgetting all notions that he could be hostile.

Dakari nodded his head, silently telling the lioness that his answer to her question was a positive one, even if the entire situation wasn't positive at all. Upon noticing the tears in her eyes, Dakari was confused for a moment before remembering that not everybody was a loner like himself. Those creatures, whatever they were, must have seperated her from her family when they brought her there. He could somehow understand how she must have felt like, since he was also seperated from his family. But then again, his loss had been quite a long time ago.

He was quite surprised, like most would be, when the lioness suddenly came up to him and lay her head on his shoulder. The contact made his shoulder a little warmer, but it mostly caused him to sit there with a rather stunned expression. "Is everything okay?" he asked slowly, wondering whether she wanted to talk about whatever it is that was bothering her like that.

Mbali took a few moments to regain her composure, weeping softly on Dakari's shoulder. After a few moments she pulled back a bit, looking Dakari in the eyes. "No, everything is not ok." she said, "I'm sure you can probably understand why; you must be experiencing this as well, though dealing with it emotionally better than I am..." she said, turning and walking slowly, trying not to fall over as she carefully placed her impaired paws on the odd, fluffy, cold snow.

She continued to walk for several yards, until Dakari was barely within earshot. She hung her head once more and wept, hoping he wouldn't hear. She was able to balance on three legs now, and scooped some snow up with one forepaw. Her near-white pawtoes spread and closed, experimenting with the texture of the odd substance. It wasn't sticky, in fact it turned to water at her touch, but it stayed in a clump and didn't always fall off her paw right away when she turned it over. What sort of wasteland had she been put in? Her family was nowhere to be seen. For all she knew, she was in another world. If only she'd been able to see the path she'd been taken on, perhaps she could follow it back home. She did not know there were entire oceans between her home, and the cold, snowy territory she had ended up in.

As Mbali left, Dakari told himself that she probably wasn't angry at him for asking that, but he also knew that posing that question also didn't do any good. After waiting for what seemed like a minute or two, he slowly got up and walked over to her. Even though she was obviously sad about her family, he still felt the urge to apologize. "Hey, look... I'm sorry for upsetting you..." he was the type who always tried to stay positive. Some found it annoying and some didn't. "We should probably not think about such distressing things... Either way, I'm Dakari." he hoped to somehow cause her to stop thinking about something that was definitely harsh.

"You didn't upset me." Mbali said, still frowning but putting a paw on Dakari's shoulder briefly before saying, "My name is Mbali. It's nice to meet you, too bad the circumstances had to be so dire and glum for our accquaintance." she then looked around and saw the forest. "perhaps we should go there." she said, pointing toward the clump of trees. "It might be warm there... Or at least warmer than it is here."

Mbali picked up another clump of snow in her paw and licked it, marveling that it melted instantly. "Before we go, however, before we go, I'd like to know what this stuff is..." as she held out the pawfull of snow to Dakari.
