Nuka's death

It was sad that Nuka had to die how he did, but it was also crutial for the storyline as well, seeing as his death was pretty much the turning point when Zira had had enough and was truly focused upon killing Simba. I don't think it was ever implied that Nuka's death was his own fault though. I think the general consensus was that he was trying to prove to his mother that he should have been The Chosen One, not Kovu and his death was just a tragic turn of events.

I think the story would've been more interesting if Vitani had died.

Don't get me wrong. She's a cool character.

But then if Vitani died the outlander might not have joined the pride landers cause shes the one that goes "no mother enough's enough" or something like that

I agree. If Vitani had died in the film, not only does that make the creators just drop out the characters because they weren't shaping up well (a common affair in role-play), but, as Iluvnala mentioned, she wouldn't have joined the Pridelanders. In the movie, we all know that Vitani is loyal to her mother and would normally never stray from her laws and orders. When she rebelled against her own mother, it showed courage that she had been raised all her life to follow Zira's laws (as everybody in the pride knows), but still rose up against her. This also gave the Outlanders a chance to show how they really felt about Zira and their defiance against her.

I beleive that Nuka's death was the saddest part of TLK2. He tried to earn his mother's love and had to die to get it. Though I do beleive that if Nuka was madly craving his mother's love he wouldn't have climbed that log pile.

Nuka's death didn't make me cry, but it made me very sad. All he wanted was his mother's attention, and he died in the process of that.

I do believe it's partially Zira's fault, for just treating him like nothing more than common dirt. If she had payed more attention to him, I don't think Nuka would have done that.

But at least, in the final moments of Nuka's life, Zira did care about Nuka, I could tell by her expression and voice.

She did seem sad to me at one point, but she never actually cried over him.
