Nello was quite horrified. The hit didn't really hurt, but his mother had never beat him before. "But I don't know where he is." his tone was quite shaky

Lana then yelled, "Then show me where this stuff is you said he ate and drank!"

Nello hurried and pointed, "Over there."

Lana went up and got angry again. She looked at both Nello and Marena. "Do you know what this is!"

Nello bean wondering whether his mother was paying any attention to what he was saying or not, "But mom, we didn't eat it! Really!"

Lana ignored what he said. "This is a plant that will hurt your lungs! I better not see you around it again! It doesn't matter whether you ate it or not!"

Nello found himself running over and hiding behind his uncle, "I'm sorry! I didn't know!"

Lana sighed. She finally calmed down. "Nello get back over here please." She said to Nello, "I apologize however you must listen to what I say. Don't go near the plant."

Nello hesitated for a moment, before finally heading back to his mother. He slowly nodded at what she said but didn't say anything himself.

Lana then said, "Come on." Once they were in the forest she looked at Nello and Marena and said, "If I didn't care about you I wouldn't be angry."
