"Puh! So what?" Amanda said excitedly, "I want adventure! I want drama! I wanna fight other lions and kick some serious hyena butt!" She crouched down in a hunter's position and crept around as if she were stalking prey. "I bet you get to do loads of really neat stuff when you're by yourself, like staying up late and playing in the mud and catching your own prey!" With that, Amanda pounced onto an unseen wriggling animal on the ground. She pinned it easily to the ground with much satisfaction. "And you get to fight other lions for territory and food." she added, wrestling and clawing at the air as though she were fighting a real lion.
Kivuli watched all this with a slightly amused look on his face. "Careful, you might hurt yourself." he warned. The cub paid little attention. She was too busy swiping at the air with her paws, pretending she was fighting off some dangerous animal. Finally Amanda rolled over onto her stomach, laughing. "That was fun!" she said happily. Her joy was short-lived. Just then, she spotted Semira standing at the entrance of the cave, looking extremely worried. Amanda stopped laughing immediately. She got up, brushed the dirt off her fur, and gave Kivuli a beseeching look before walking over to her mother. She could tell she wasn't happy, and she had the feeling she knew why as well.
