Where Kopa went wrong... [ P r i v a t e ]

Kopa worried himself to run faster as Nuka and Kovu gained on him. When Kovu finally tagged him, Kopa quickly whipped around and growled playfully as he begun to chase them.

Meanwhile, Vitani was left alone with her thoughts. This lasted only a few moments before she came back to earth and realized that they were already having fun without her. With a quick bound, the female skipped away joyfully and ran away from Kopa.

Kopa's air supply was running low, even though he was gulping in air by the ounce as he ran quickly. His legs began to ache and his head to hurt. The young cub stopped for a few minutes breathing heavily telling the other cubs to "run and get a head start." When he had finally caught his breath, he continued to chase the three around until they were all too tired to do anything.

By that time the sky was turning into a deep pink and the sun was fading. They lay in the grass looking at the stars as the daytime vanished quickly. Vitani breathed out in a sigh of pure contentment as the stars glistened in the night. The cool air whipped around her fur and tingled her skin beneath her fur.

"Nuka," Vitani asked slowly and quietly, "can we come back and play with Kopa tomorrow?" Her eyes were sparkling in the moonlight and she looked beautiful in the atmosphere. Kopa gazed at Vitani fondly with a loving glint in his eyes.

[Latari]

"Sure, so i can play with my new buddy," he said poking Kopa with his paw. "Today was fun and I'd love to come back everyday." Then he looked at the fading sun. "Too bad we have to go in a little while," he growled.

"Can you play tomorrow too Kopa," he asked with his peircing gaze. "It must be pretty lonely here, or do you have other siblings," he said smirking.

Nuka got up and felt the cool breeze and began laughing randomly. "It must be great to live here, with all the grass and plenty of water." He looked around and smild and continued to laugh about. And aughed till he was rolling on the floor.

Kopa laughed a little nervously as Nuka poked him. "Uh...yeah, of course I will!" He smiled as he gazed around at all his new friends. His expression turned sad again once Nuka reminded him about their parting. "Yeah, I suppose we should all go soon.)

Again, he began feeling uncomfortable as Nuka began laughing hysterically and asking if he had siblings. "No, I don't have brothers or sisters. I'm an only cub." Kopa smiled warmly at Nuka, still a little uncomfortable. "You are free to eat and drink whatever you like when I'm around, but if my dad sees you," the young cub cringed and kept his low as he whispered, "if my dad sees you, he'll literally kill you if you come back. So make sure you do everything in secret."

Nala was perched on the peak of Pride Rock calling her son loudly. Her eyes were keenly scanning the horizen and the ground.

Again, Kopa cringed lower and looked sadly at his three friends as he hurridly left, "I gotta go."

[Latari]

He stopped laughing as he cringed and his eyes narrowed. "C'mon guys its time to go home," he said as Kopa departed. He began sprinting back to the Outlands "Hurry I think someone saw u," he growled at them. He nudged Kovu and Vitani "Stop dawdling." He quickly looked around as they crossed the border back. "We hae to be more cautious next time, but we'll go back tomorrow," he said mood changing. Then he began to laugh then he saw his mother...

Vitani wished to stay with Kopa forever, but she knew her time had come and it was time for her to leave. With a sigh and a longing look backwards, she padded alongside Nuka and Kovu. Her temper rose as she began thinking of why it was forbidden for her to converse and interact with the Pridelanders. Her mother, Zira, would never allow it since all of them were followers of Simba, her hated enemy and killer of Scar.

As these thoughts ran through her head, Vitani looked at the ground until her head bumped into something slightly squishy and soft. The young cub's eyes widened as she slowly rose her head upwards to look into the blazing eyes of Zira, her mother. Zira loomed over her cub with a stern and almost killing glint in her eyes.

"Just what were you doing near the Pridelands?" Zira questioned with a dangerous kindness in her voice.

Vitani clearly gulped and looked at the ground again muttering, "We were just looking for food..."

Her mother blazed at her and roared viciously as she trudged home snapping back, "Come home, children!" As they were walking, the young female whispered to her siblings, "Now we're in for it."

[Latari]

Nuka walked with his head down. Then up at his mother wondering what would happen next. They could get out of this if we think slyly he smirked. At the thought of thhis he chuckled slightly but not loud enough for his mother to hear. "Lie if she asks you anything," he whispered to kovu as they followed their mother.

Thoughts raced through Vitani's head as she tried to configure why Nuka was acting so sly; she shrugged it off since he always was jealeous of Kovu anyways. She continued walking with her head down beside her to brothers, Nuka and Kovu as hot tears threatened to water into her eyes and drip down her face. The young female held them back of course, but it was very difficult since the situation was very difficult as well.

Zira glanced back at the ashamed cubs and smirked slightly to herself as a plan hatched in her wicked brain. When they had finally reached the main area of the Outlands, Zira took them into her den and made them sit down in front of her as she gazed sternly into their eyes.

"Just what were you doing?" she questioned with a dangerously pleasant tone.

Vitani looked around at Nuka and Kovu for inspiration or for them to say something, but since nothing came up, she spoke softly, "Like I said, Mother: we were searching for food."

"Why were you searching for food over there if we have plenty of food over here?"

The young cub would have said she was frightened of her mother, but she knew better than that. "Because there isn't much good food over here. We were hoping to bring back an antelope..."

Her mother turned her head to Nuka. "Nuka! Don't you know how to take care of two measly cubs?!" she snapped with a slight roar in her voice.

"Kopa," Nala softly spoke as she nuzzled her son fondly. "What were you doing outside there?"

Kopa hesitated slightly, but continued to answer, "Well, I found some new friends, Ma. May I play with them tomorrow?"

His mother smiled lightly as she answered, "Of course you may. Just don't go too far, Dearest." She continued nuzzling her son and gave him a short lick on the cheek before padding off to find Simba.



[ O c : Wait...was Kovu even born yet? It wouldn't make sense if he was born at that time since he committed no part of the "crime".]

[Latari]

"Uhh isn't feeding them food taking care of them mother, or perhaps we can stand around here and starve," he mummbled darkly. "But yes mother i can, we cant hunt over there mother I-I didnt think it was bad to have a little fun," he stammered. Then his tail drooped between his tail

"Hey Nala what were you talking to Kopa about," he said coming up and nuzzling her. Then looked at his son curiously and then felt that he should be safe. Then he turned back to his mate with a frantic look.

[ OC: well i just thought he would be born. and would be a good character...]

Zira growled lowly and hissed through gritted teeth. "Nuka, I expect you to hunt in the Outlands! I never want to see you wandering around the Pride Lands!" she leaned in closely and her hot breath breathed down Nuka's body, "understand?" she whispered. She flicked her tail awaiting Nuka's pitiful response.

All the time Vitani was zoning out while thinking about Kopa...dreamily she smiled until Zira's growling snapped her back into reality. I must see him again, thought the young cub anxiously. I must...

Nala gazed fondly at her mate and licked his cheek as she answered, "Oh, everything's fine, Dear." She glanced back at Kopa, "Kopa's made a new friend." Noting the frantic look on Simba's face, she hurridly assured him that nothing would happen to him. "As long as he stays in the Pride Lands," she told him.

[Latari]

Nuka flinched as terror flickered in his eyes then it went away "Yes mother," he grumbled withhis head down but was secretly smiling. "Ill go take care of these too" He then flicked his tail towards the opening of the Outlands to his siblings. "C'mon guys." Then when they
were out of earshot he turned to them and said "We'll just have to sneak over there and come home earlier." He winked at hem and then began to laugh.

He nuzzled her "Okay dear." Then his exprssion changed. He was happy his son had some friends. "You want to go for a walk," he said smirking at her. "It would really take my mind off things." He got up and stretched his muscles.
