The only reason it doesn't make sense is the different design of the cub and in the who carried the cub to the ledge and the time of the day. But as all that can be completely validly written off as a remake - which is what it is meant as because there is no evidence of anything deeper - there is no sense in making a huge problem out of it.
I'd be good with thinking he was in the books and not in movies but you (or someone else) is saying that the books aren't offical so I go to my theory of him being the TLK cub.
That's an odd reaction. Because the books aren't official, nothing about them is part of the official story. That is common sense.
The Kopa theories fall flat every step of the way: starting from the fact that he came after the movie and wasn't created by Disney, going through the gazillion reasons why SP makes it impossible that they had any lost child on the background, and ending with the fact that Fluffy's creators didn't call the cub Kopa and SP's makers didn't mention him in any way either. Which is why I'm really surprised how stubbornly Kopa fans bother to hang on to their support of Kopa as canon, instead of just personally thinking so for their own amusement.
Also, that banner of "Kopa" with a line through him is offensive to me and other Kopa fans.

It's a picture with symbol on it. I think anyone in their right mind should be able to get over it. As in, it's not bashing Kopa with rude words or making him look ridiculous or anything that would actually downright offensive. The way it is now it's just a statement put in a creative way.
And concidering that us anti-Kopa people have to constantly put up with Kopa fans, their massive amount of squeeling: 'OMG Kopa is the best he is totally the cub in the end!!', complaining: 'Kopa should've been in the movies! Why isnt't he in the movies!?! stupid Disney!!' and sometimes downright lies: 'The cub in the end is Kopa! It is! It's official!!'... CONSTANTLY all that... So - I think we should be allowed to have that one tiny banner to have a laugh with. And that's why it was created - to joke on another user who created your Kopa-support banner.
