Leah also had nothing on her mind. "We could..." she started, unable to come up with anything, "...go... for a walk?"

Geno looked at her with a confused expression for a moment, before letting out a sigh. "It's okay." he said, before feeling even more confused when she actually smiled at him, "Uh... Thank you... I guess." That was wierd... and nice, of her to say that.

Thumper shook his head, "I dunno." he said, before looking at him with a hopeful expression, "Is your father anywhere around here by any chance?"

Ronno nodded and got up grimacing in pain from his shoulder.

The doe looked at him and said, "Uh do you want to talk about what happened to the uh love of your life or whatever?" She then looked at Geno and said, "Oh nevermind. Sorry for asking."

Bambi the skunk shook his head and said, "Maybe he'll show up later sir."

Leah got up, but then looked at her mate with a confused look, "Are you sure you can walk?"

Geno for some reason managed to smile at her. "It's alright." he said, thinking about what she said, "Maybe talking about it will help..." he added

Thumper forced a smile at Bambi the skunk, Yeah, maybe he will." there was one part which was always repeated; the part with the maybe.

Ronno looked at Leah and said, "Sure why?"

The doe was kinda nervous at the way he smiled at her but she put it out of her mind. "Well uh go ahead and talk."

Bambi the skunk looked at Long Ears. "Uh your mate?"

Leah shook her head, "It seemes like it still hurts..." but she then pushed the thought to the back of her mind. Ronno had been shot way more than once in his life, she was sure that it was nothing serious.

Geno didn't know whether he should start from the beginning or just tell the main point. There was however one thing he was curious about. "Hey, listen... Do you know what happened yesterday at the meadow?" he wondered whether she was one of the many who were led on into Karu's death trap.

Long Ears then shook his head with one of his paws, "Dang it! I forgot... he said, before quickly starting to head back, [b]"I hope she wont be mad."

Ronno said, "No I feel fine. Pain is for wimps." He went ahead and got in front of her trying to show her he was fine but the wound still felt horrible. The good news was instead of a thousand ants biting him it felt like five-hundred. He laughed at that.

The doe shook her head. "I am uh new to this part of the forest. I have never been here before." She then was curious, "Uh who is 'Karus?'" She looked at Geno and said, "Uh is that where uh what's her name uh..."

Bambi the skunk said, "You know she will!"

Leah smiled and went up to him. She heard that phrase alot of times during her life with Ronno, so she was already knew that he was still in some sort of pain. "So where do we go?"

Geno then knew that he had to explain her how everything happened. "Well you know there's been a fire..." he started. Even if she wasn't from this part of the forest, she must have noticed that huge fire. "Anyways, it was after the fire... And this Karus guy said he found food. He led most of us to the meadow you met me at, and... He was leading us straight into Man's trap, and Marena didn't make it..." with that he answered both of her questions. "That bastard is probably still alive somewhere..."

Bambi the skunk was right; Long Ears was asking that just to calm himself down. "I gotta hurry."

Ronno didn't know where to go so he told her the truth. "I have no idea Leah." Suddenly a buck, came out of the woods who looked older than Geno and Garo but a little younger than Ronno. "Hey there what are you doing with that old-timer?"

The doe tried to reassure him, "I am sure there was nothing you could have done." Wait a minute why did she say that? She was just so confused about her feelings around this buck but she put it out of her mind. "Alive? Are you saying that you showed him mercy?" She then looked at Geno and said, "I remember some kind of fire but luckily Man had fought it off with water before it got to where I was living at the time." She then looked at Geno and said something she thought she would never say, "My family lives there. You could go visit sometime."

Bambi the skunk stayed with Thumper and said, "So what do you think of Long Ears' mate?"

Leah raised her eye-brows. Did she really look that young? "I'm just as old as he is. And you sir can run along now because you started with the wrong doe." She really didn't want Ronno to get into a fight, not with the injury in his shoulder.

Geno was confused, why did Man fight off the fire he had started himself? He still managed to find some sort of reassurance in her words, "Thanks..." He was glad for her that he family lived away from where the fire took place, at least someone's home wasn't completely destroyed. Maybe visiting other parts of the forest was a good idea, it sounded like something even his father had never done, but it still got him curious. "I'm just being curious... If your home is there, what brought you here? You don't have to tell me if it's too personal."

Thumper joined hands and looked at his son's dissapearing figure, "Why, she's just like his mother."

After a few moments of absolute silent, Garo spoke, "Are you sure we shouldn't go check on him or something?" Meanwhile Long Ears was heading back to his den.

Ronno looked at the new buck on the scene. "Don't make me kill you!" The younger buck said to the doe, "You are lying. You just don't want me to fight the old one." Ronno was angry all of a sudden. "Say that again and you shall see how 'old' I am." The buck laughed and said, "Winner takes her."

The doe looked to Geno and said, "Well uh my folks sent me out for a reason. Uh I hope it won't matter to you if we both keep our secrets to ourselves. Just know I was sent out for that reason." She then looked at Geno and said, "Let me make myself clear however. Don't get any ideas just because I invited you to see my family. I know what you males think about all of the time." She softened though and said, "However we can be friends if you want to be." She knew she would regret this decision later on down the road.

Bambi the skunk smiled and made sure to let Long Ears tell the details. "Of course sir."

Faline shook her head. "Don't worry about Geno. Just give him time. If he doesn't return by tonight then we will worry." Long Ears' mate was waiting for him. "And where were you hmm?"
