That is the theory, Scar, due to its small black wick to wanted to become a emo and asked him Buffalo make him a scar!

Ben, if I think that if books proves that it is a Buffalo, there is nothing, he must to make...:/
Since the closest-to-official fact stated it was a buffalo then I guess it was. Unless Disney themselves clear it up which probably wouldn't happen unless they make a new movie/book, a prequel about Mufasa's and scar's cubhood.
You do realize that Disney already did clear it up? That the buffalo theory is in no way closest-to-official. There are other books approved into the book universe too, books that have a very different vision on how he got the scar, so that buffalo horn crap is not the official vision any more than any of the other ones, and thus not one of them is the true, official vision of the matter. They are merely profit (fan)fiction views that have nothing official to do with the film's Scar. The film's Scar's story and all is completely left up to fanfiction and those numerous books in the book universe are nothing more than that. The only difference to ours is that they got published.
if I think that if books proves that it is a Buffalo, there is nothing, he must to make...:/
The books don't prove anything. They contradict even each others, resulting in nothing more but a collection of seperate (fan)fiction stories based on the film instead of any specific official truth. Scar's scar remains up to fanfiction without any canon or one official vision for it.

Where did Disney clear it up? If they did, then how come it's still up to fanfictions? You contradicted yourself there. Also, which other books explain the scar? I wasn't aware there were other books.

I meant Disney cleared it up by making clear the truth is not in the book universe, and through that, that it's meant to be up to fanfiction.

But wait, I was mistaken - the other scar vision I was thinking of was in The Chronicles of Pride Lands which is non-profit fanfiction. Oh well, still there's a profit and thus official book called "Friends In Need" which contradicts the "Six New Adventures" by Zazu's part of the story, and some book that contradicts the "Six New Adventures" by the part when Rafiki came into Pride Lands... and thus make the SNA no more official than the other books. Also, the buffalo horn theory isn't what happened bcause the story is in the books wherein Kopa is and the canon film's makers already denied Kopa from the movie. So as Kopa doesn't exist in the movie, the buffalo horn isn't in its background either.

The Lion King film's makers apparently do not care about the book universe written by outsiders. That's ultimately why the books prove nothing. The fact that they contradict each others too, is only another addition to how they're not valid.

:adored: I think Scar, or Taka by his real name, is very misunderstood. His father chose Mufasa instead of him to become King. How would you feel if your parents had to choose one of you to have a billion pounds and not get it. Anyway, I think Disney portrayed a perfect villain within Scar. He had the looks, the criminal mind and the jealousy towards his brother.

I've been wondering how do you guys know the books weren't written by Disney? Genuine question, I don't have the books but from what I've read the books were released under Disney.

To release and to write are two very different matters.

I know they weren't written by Disney because I do my research well.

Alex Simmons, the author of the FIRST book in the "Disney's The Lion King: Six New Adventures" series ("A Tale of Two Brothers") does not work at the Walt Disney Company. He is a writer, actor, playwright, voice-over talent, speaker, and teaching artist who has his own clients and associations and writes for numerous different companies.
"Simmons has written three movie novelizations for Disney..." Disney didn't write them. It released them.
>> Alex Simmons personal web site <<
And this page of his site makes clear that that novel is his original story based on the hit film. As in he created and wrote it and then gave to Disney to make money of and to entertain kids.

I think it would be fairly pointless to go into detail with the rest of the book series' authors. You can research them if you will and find out that they are just professional childrens' book authors whho create and write for those who pay for it, including but not mainly, for Disney.

Nothing about that book series came from Disney except the film(s) the books base on. (And likely nothing about any of the books in the book universe that totally contradicts itself.) Disney just slammed its stamp on them so that it could make money with it and do whatever the heck it wants with them, and apparently Disney wanted nothing more but money out of them as the film makers didn't approve them but denied Kopa's existence in the movie universe.

Well oops. I've heard the name Taka so often to do with Scar that I really thought it was real. Sorry for the mistake :( Thanks for correcting me. However I still stand by what I said :)
