Did simba try too much?

Wow do you guys think that simba is just trying to give kiara what he did not have
i think that simba did not have a father to give him limates and to fix his mistakes and he wanted to give that to kiara and mabey that he felt bad for kiara and gave her limates so that she will not make the same mistakes

The only mistake Simba made was acting like a cub. If parents restrict their children, they're not gonna learn anything because they won't experience anything. That's why Mufasa was such an awesome father.

He should have realized that Kiara was just a cub and was bound to go looking for trouble just like he did when he was young. What did he expect her to do when he just kept ordering her around? Obviously she was going to try exploring the Elephant Graveyard, even when he told her not to.

Well Mufasa was a great father but he was only there for the first couple months of his life and rest of his life he had to have learn it well i think simba would be a better king if he had his father in his like and Nala and Kiara

That's interesting... In a way than, Simba would have been a <better> king id he had more fathering from Mufasa, but fathering is exactly what Simba himself is doing too much of if that makes sense.

In my opinion, I think that was done on purpose. ^^ Much like Nala stated directly to Simba within the movie, "You want so much to walk the path expected of you", which indicates that he's trying his hardest to folow in Mufasa's paw prints. Then, at the end of the movie, he finally learns that it's okay to walk your own path when the situation calls for it. ^^ I also think since Simba idolized his father so much, it would be only natural for him to want to be exactly like him, so I think Disney did a nice job in portraying what Simba might have acted like. ^^

I agree with the opening post by Tani. Simba was definatly trying to be just like his father. I love it when Kiara opens his eyes by saying "You will never be Mufasa!"

That must have been such a slap to the face to the poor guy :\ The truth hurts.

Of course it must have been really painful for Simba to hear it, but it needed to be said. Simba had to learn to be his own person, and not a shadow of his father.

Better for him to hear it from his daughter, than perhaps from say, Nala. lol
