Subconscious Lessons

Postby Ushujaa » December 18th, 2010, 4:02 am

i found an old story in my gmail documents...

okay so there's two ways i could pull this one off,]

1. A high school bully meets a new kid beats him up, steals his stuff... all witnessed by an african medicine man/woman (who is also acting as the school's docter/nurse) known as Asafum or Ibaras if it's a girl(lol lets see if you guys notice) the bully later is feeling ill after eating the high school cafeteria's food he goes to the doctor/nurse asking if he/she has anything that he could take... The African medicine person gives him a very special vial of glowing liquid that knocks him out cold, when he awakes he is in the Pridelands only he is not human anymore... he is a meerkat and if he wants to survive he has to learn how to be genuinely kind the first person he would come into contact would be either Rafiki or Timon....

2. A high school freshman is bullied throughout his entire first week at school. he hasn't met his father yet. he goes home in tears one day, and his mother surprises him she tells him their going on vacation... they take a trip to Africa. When they arrive The teen's mother reveals that his father lives in Africa, and is looking forward to meeting him. as the take a tour of Africa, he decides to ditch the guide and go rock climbing, he trips and falls into a glowing pool of water below... next thing he knows he awakens as a meerkat and through his travels he transforms through the food chain... The key to him getting back to normal is learning how to stand up for himself he later finds out that his father is a lion. (don't ask how or why i haven't decided yet)

EDIT* constructive comments much appreciated

That was a hard decision... but I think I like the Bullied story a bit better. Just my opinion. :)

I'd prefer reading about the second choice: the bullied. It has a far more interesting plot, though the bully story does have it's good parts. The bully story could be used as him trying to be kind to others to get through his (temporary?) life as a meerkat. Not saying that I would like that choice, but if you decide that, you can use my tip.

This sounds very interesting and I cannot wait to read it! :)

Honestly I thought the first option, if done well could be better. But that is kind of personal taste, and the 2nd option sounded like it would be easier to make a good story out of than the first. I would still say the 2nd option though ! :)
