When was the Stampede?

I always thought it was a few days/a week after, possibly Scar knew what he was doing but didn't have the opportunity to put his plan into action straight away, I would have thought Mufasa and Sarabi may not have let Simba go on a little trip to the gorge with uncle Scar straight away after the happenings in the Elephant Graveyard

That's a good point.

I've speculated about this before, and it's very interesting because there's really no way of knowing lol. I've always imagined it to have taken place the next day but of course I could be wrong. I like to think that Mufasa somehow knew his time with Simba would soon be cut short, which was what inspired him to give him the little "Under the Stars" speech the night before. However, Scar drops an interesting hint before the Stampede that offers a vague clue as to the amount of time that passed between the Stampede and Elephant Graveyard scenes:

Scar: Just stay on this rock. You wouldn't want to end up in another mess like you did with the hyenas.
Simba: You know about that?
Scar: Simba, everybody knows about that. Lucky daddy was there to save you, eh?

So the two scenes couldn't have been too far apart, since judging by Simba's distressed reaction, the first event was still fresh in his mind. And his shock to discovering that "everybody knows about that" suggests that it didn't occur too long ago for him to learn that the news had spread. So based on this very hazy evidence, I'd say that this dialogue took place 1-3 days after the Be Prepared scene :P

That, also, is a good point. If we have these things into consideration, I guess we could say that it was about 2 weeks maximum, maybe. Enough for Mufasa and Sarabi to let Simba go off, and enough for the knowledge of the hyena incedent to be spread/still be on Simba's mind.

One thing though, I've always thought that Scar was lying when he said that to Simba, to make him feel bad, and to explain why he knows about it. Because Simba says "You know about that?" makes me think that Mufasa hadn't told many of the lions, and Simba was surprised that Scar knew. That would also explain why he says "Really?" when Scar answers, who covers it up with "Everybody knows about that."
But that's just me.
I like to think it was a while afterwards, just so that Simba and Mufasa got to spend some more time together... :(
Aww  Honestly, I've considered that, but sadly I don't think any amount of time spent together would make up for the loss Simba inevitably suffers in the end.

But see, neither Mufasa nor Sarabi even knew Scar was taking Simba to the gorge in the first place. And Simba trusted Scar to not take him any place dangerous which is why he told neither of his parents where he was going beforehand, plus he assumed that Muffy already knew (since Scar told him "Daddy" had planned a surprise). And Mufasa and Sarabi let their guard down enough to trust Simba to be safe hanging out with Scar, which is perhaps the greatest tragedy =/

That's what I meant, lol, but I guess I phrased that part of my original post really badly. :P What I meant to say was, the way Scar said it, Simba was still shocked to learn that the entire pride supposedly knows about the Elephant Graveyard incident, so it couldn't have occurred too long ago. In contrast, it occurred long enough ago for him to not suspect that Scar was making the whole thing up, since it's not at all likely that the whole pride would know the very next day.
Or maybe he was just that gullible. I dunno, lol.

Plus was it not scar who told Mufasa that Simba was in the gorge when the stampede occurred anyway?

Please keep in mind, however, that Scar could have invited Simba to the gorge with him without telling Mufasa; if Tiombe's statement were true. Just to answer a possible question that will come up after this post, Mufasa didn't get mad because the situation was so dangerous you wouldn't care about punishment.

He did invite him there without telling Mufasa, did he not?

I think Scar probably planned out the stampede even before the hyena attack as a back up plan... idk just a thought.
