Indeed, though he is often viewed only for his looks as an adult... sadly

Yes. Maybe with that scar he will be more cool than before, so maybe with that reason, many Kovu fans more like to see the Adult Kovu. ;)

About Kovu`s scar: It`s all about symbolism. Kovu is so much like Scar in appearance, yet nothing like him on the inside. But Simba only judges him by the exterior and the fact that he was chosen to follow in Scars pawprints.

I love the talk he has with Nala, where she tells Simba to get to know Kovu better.. "You want so much to walk the path excpected of you, perhaps Kovu does not." :happy2:

Kovu probably knows more about himself then any other lion around, the guy has had to examine himself on the inside many times and fight against himself as well as his family, harsh life. The guy gets what he deserves in the end though...

This is how I see my interest into Kovu's interior character. :)

I find that Disney has made a very nice slew of character designs, externally and internally.

Just think about this for a moment. How many characters can you think of that have an absolutely important external and internal design? Cause the first one that comes to my mind is Kovu. Like PK said, Kovu very much resembles Scar on the outside, and even more so when he gets his scar. But like Rogue has said many many many times before, his internal design nears perfection. Such a dark past leading into such a bright future. And putting Simba aside for a moment, Kovu's past was much worse than most other characters. Kovu has a perfect interior and exterior design. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I seriously hate to cause any wars or arguements among fans of characters, but my opinion on Kovu's life is not so bad. If you really think about it, he was born and raised with the Outlanders, but he had an amount of fun because when Vitani challenged to fight him he readily accepted. As he grew older, he was merely brought up with hatred in his heart. I didn't really find anything significant that happened that totally awe-struck me. Sure, his mother probably didn't love him as much as he might have wished, but Zira loved to cub to an extent. (Even if it were to raise him to be heir to the throne, she realizes that she has to obey Kovu's laws if she thrones him)

No, I'm not trying to justify Simba, I'm just saying that in my opinion Kovu didn't lead such a hard life. Now, if I'm utterly missing the point, please enlighten me. I've read so much about the significance of Kovu's background, yet I still don't see the reason.

Sorry if I offended any Kovu fans out there. I'm not saying I don't like him at all. In a matter of fact, he's one of my favorite Lion King characters; I just don't really get it, lol.
