Kopa the LK version of Santa

Kopa the LK version of Santa

Postby dariusgib » December 9th, 2010, 10:32 pm

Now this may be sweeping and pardon if it is but from my experience i think its true
Not alot of people Kopa.
Alot of people will avoid mentioning Kopa or shun people who try to bring him up. Why is that. I came up with a couple of reasons
1. Hes from a cheaply written Book series why should we care.
2. His exhistence contadicts a disney made film
3.His character is some what "recycled"
4. Many believe he is from a differnt universe all togehter

Now heres some reasons to believe in Kopa
1.There alot of differences in the presentation of the cun in TLK and TLKSP
2. Would explian Simbas overprotectiveness
3. His backstory, character devolpment love interest would make a brilliant story
4.Makes things in SP make sense
5.He alows Simbas family tree to continue

What do you think ;)

it is hard to say, kopa is only in those books, they dropped him so disney could do the love story between kiara and kovu.

kopa exist of course, but what I know before the premiere of TLK, producers did not know that the movie would be so successful, and they did not have in mind to do a sequel, books are a result of a commercial explotation of TLK, and it went on sale in the same year as the movie, after all this, in 1998 TLKSP was made with different producers, according to Disney, that is the reason for the differences between the styles of drawing in the first and second film. Kopa has not an entirely defined story, this does not make much commercial impact, but a love story at Romeo and Juliet style, I think so. Another matter, according to Disney, kopa is not in the same space-time that TLKSP characters, which would tell us Kopa's story is an alternate version to TLKSP in a sort of parallel universe.

Leaving aside all that, I think all these inconsistencies were deliberately created to some extent, so that people speculate about it, and do it a little more interesting.

or maybe it just my imagination.

I find nothing wrong with Kopa, it's just he isn't a leading character and doesn't appear in any of the films. Yes, his story could close many loop-holes, but I'm sure the creators weren't thinking about Kopa when they made Lion King II. As far as we know, it could have been made after Lion King II was created. Also, if he was that big a deal, they surely would have mentioned it in the film. Otherwise it wouldn't make much sense.

Kopa, however, would not be needed to continue the family tree of Mohatu. Since Kiara was born of Simba and Nala, she married Kovu and had cubs that are unknown to us. So the tree continues even without Kopa.

Please don't get me wrong; I'm not against Kopa, he just doesn't appear in the movies and I wouldn't count him as an actual character besides from the comics.

Kopa is an awesome character and does exist but we dont know what happend to him. Some people said he was killed some people said he ran away but those stories aren't true! The writers where going to put Kopa in SP but thought that Simba should have a female cub since Simba was the main cub the the first movie and he was male. So they made stories of Kopa which made it make sense.

This is just my opinion though ;)

Was it really Kopa from SNA or the cub was just supposed to be male at first? Some people say his name was Chaka but I don't really know much about SP so I don't know if it's true or not...

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think I heard somewhere that Kiara was supposed to have a brother. There is nothing, however, that indicates that they had Kopa in mind when creating that character, seeing as the people at Disney still refer to the cub at the end of TLK as "Fluffy". Kopa as a character only exists in the books.

LOL what? Sorry that just made me laugh. What is Simba's "family name" then? And so lions get married then? Seriously though, why would lions have last names, let alone be the same as us (continuing with the husband)
