Rafiki finsihed with Kivulis leg and stood up takign his stick in hand 'There we go all done. Now dont go do anything stupid for a while'

Kivuli laughed 'Dont worry i wont. Thank you'

'Ey, no bother, just take care' Rafiki said as he headed off back to his home

Simba walked over to the grey lion and spoke 'I have got to go out for a whiel to check the pridelands. Will you be ok here?'

'I will be fine. Thank you for your hospitality' Kivuli said in a calm quiet tone

'OK, she you later' SImba ran down priderock to begin his patrol

Meanwhiel Kivuli looked around the den. It seemed very inviting and comfy. He continued looking around. His ears then caught the convorsation takign place betwen Amanda and her mother Semira. Semira wanted to go hunting with Amanda. Kivuli would ahve liekd her to saty here for company. He slowly got to his feet and walked over. He spoke with gentle words 'Excuse me, Semira?' The lion mother looke dup at Kivuli 'Forgive me but i could not help but over hear you. I can unserstand that you would want to teach your daughter hunting skills, but is it ok if she stays here with me for company. I know no one else.' He looked at Amanda and smiled warmly 'She will be safe with me i promsie, we wont go no where'

Amanda's face brightened up. She was torn. She badly wanted to go watch the lionesses hunt, but she also wanted to stay and talk with Kivuli. She looked to her mother earnestly for an answer. Semira considered it for a while, then shook her head. "I'm sorry... uh... Kivuli, but I think you better get some rest now. It's been a long day for you and I'm sure you must be tired. You two can talk in the morning. And to be honest, Amanda's hunting skills really need improvement anyway." she added, glancing down at her daughter. Amanda smiled sheepishly.
Semira looked up to the sky, frowning, then turned to the rest of the pride. "Come on girls, we can't waste any more time. It'll start pouring any second. Come on Amanda." she said to her daughter, giving her a little nudge with her nose. "Bye." Amanda whispered and ran after the rest of the lionesses.
While they were walking, Semira was giving instructions. "We'll try for some zebra since they're easy to spot even in a rainfall. Try to catch at least two or three. We might need an extra for Kivuli. Now remember, zebra are a little smarter than most animals, so we'll need to position ourselves strategically around their herd. Try to stay silent for as long as possible until I give the signal. Any questions?"
"Yeah I've got one. What about me?" Amanda asked, struggling to keep up with the fast-moving pride.
"You can sit and watch by that rock over there." Semira told her.
"But Mom, won't the zebra see me?"
"Probably," said Semira, "But you're no threat to them. You're just a small cub."
Amanda scowled. She hated when people told her she was too young to do anything. She wanted to grow up!
As they approached the site, the lionesses grew quieter. A few were looking worriedly at the sky, but most of them were concentrating on the zebra on the grassy plain ahead of them. Amanda could see Semira silently giving orders on who was to stand where. Amanda dutifully walked over to the rock and sat down to watch the scene below.

Kivuli watched as his young friend went off with her mother 'Good luck Amanda, happy hunting' He said as he watched them run off. His leg was still hurting a bit, but he did nto want to rest. He wanted to explore. Granted it would be very slow and a bit painful but that would not stop him.

Kivuli made his way down priderock and began walking. He liked these pridelands. They we calm and peaceful. The king was kind and the pride full of nice friendly lionesses. AS Kivuli walked he started thinking about his past, and the painful memories. 'Go away!' he said to himself. The memories casued him to had a sudden headache. HE stopped in his tracks whiel the pain dispersed over time and the grey lion began his slow walk again

ABout ten minutes past and he was gettign quite warm. Even though it was a bit overcast there was still rays of light that shone through. Kivuli say a small tree ahead and decided to rest underneath it. As he approched, he say a body laying underneath it. At first Kivuli thought it was Simba, but as he drew closer he realsied it was not. Instead it was a light brown lion lion with a white and brown mane. When Kivuli got up closer he also say that the lion had a gash on his nose. He decided to lay down on the other sid eon the shade to not intrupt this sleepign lion. As Kivuli walked over to his spot he stood on a twig and it made a loud snapping noise 'Oh darn it!' He said

Amanda sighed. It had been 20 long boring minutes and still nothing had happened. How long did these hunts take anyway? She was getting restless. She began to wish she'd stayed at home. Amanda looked over in the distance, but Pride Rock was nowhere to be seen. Instead she saw dark grey clouds forming over the horizon, moving slowly but surely over the whole landscape. Normally she would have been very excited; she'd only experienced about 3 other rainfalls in her life. But today, she just felt bored - and very angry. She would never have the patience to hunt for her own prey when she got old enough.
A drop of water fell on her nose. Amanda looked up, startled. Another one hit her forehead, and a third one fell on her paw. It was raining. Amanda looked anxiously below, hoping the zebras hadn't noticed. Of course, they had. Just as they were starting to move toward the large clump of trees that might provide some shade, a lightening-fast blurred figure zipped right in the middle of the crowd. It came so fast that Amanda was rather taken aback. What creature could run that fast? She looked closer. It was her mother!
Immediately, the zebras scattered. This would make it easier for the hiding lionesses, she thought. Some of them emerged from their spots and chased the fleeing herd, but Amanda knew that many of them were still under cover, so to ambush any passing zebras. Three zebras - two adults and a baby, were separated from the crowd. Semira and a three other lionesses made for them. They were gaining fast... closer... closer... Now they were only five yards away from the fleeing animals. Amanda held her breath. What was going to happen now?

[Zeke]

The sound of a sharp snap awoke Zeke and he flew up to his paws. His extended claws raked the ground beneath him, kicking up small trails of dust under him. He snarled and faced the figure as his eyes adjusted to the afternoon light. The image of a large grey lion soon became clear to him and he looked over the possible foe. He said nothing, just maintained a low growl in the back of his throat. The lion stood hardly any taller than him, yet seemed a strong, hardened veteran unlike his young self. Zeke stood his ground and waited for the lion to make the first move.

Kivuli looked at the young lion. He seemed very tall for his age. Kivuli did not look scared but instead turned to face the young adult, revealing his wound to him. Kivuli looked into this lions deep green eyes and spoke 'I am sorry i woke you. I only came here to rest and seek shelter from....' the rain began to fall with some force '.....the rain.' Kivuli bowed to the young one and said 'My name is Kivuli, what is yours?'

[Zeke]

Zeke immediately stopped growling and stood upright, stunned at the lion's kind words. Inside he felt guilty for his unreasonable hostility, yet he didn't show it. "Umm..." He muttered, trying to gather up his thoughts. "My name is Zeke." He stopped, not sure of what to say next. Kivuli's unexpected behavior left him in shock.

Kivuli smiled 'Well Zeke if its ok with you ill rest right here' Kivuli lay down under the tree out the ran, opposite to where Zeke was. Kivuli studied the lion for a little while before asking 'You are very big for a young adult, your not from around here are you?' Kivuli pondered as he waited for Zeke's reply

[Zeke]

"No I am not," He said as he lay opposite from Kivuli on the other side of the tree. "I have been traveling almost all my life." Zeke took a good look at Kivuli, realizing that he wasn't from around here either. He refrained from asking in order to avoid more chatter on his side.

Kivuli, unaware of Zeke not wanting a huge convosation, calmly asked 'So where are you from? And why do you sit here alone? there is a great pride of lions just over there' Kivuli indicated Priderock. He waited ofr a reply. Zeke intrested him. Like Kivuli he seemed alone. Yet at the same time strong and independant. Incredible for a lion his age
