No guards on the border

No guards on the border

Postby dariusgib » November 28th, 2010, 4:29 pm

Sorry for ruining your forum with another silly thread about problems in Simbas pride. But this time i swear its important

I found something in SP very hard to believe.
Near the end of the film the outlanders just walk into the pridelands. With no resitance. They get like halfway throught the pridelands before Simba attualy meets them
And had Zazu not been on his not voiced by Rowan Actkinson patrol they would of marched all the way to pride rock. Yet again with no resitance

I just think that if Simba had regarded the outlanders with such scrutiny and maice he would of put patrols
guards or at least a scout by the border
I would like to hear your views and comments ;)

Zazu was out looking for Kiara. Zazu had already noticed them and reported it to Simba.

Common sense.. It's so rare nowadays.

1. I didn't quite understand what you were saying in that last post.
2. Zazu wasn't even looking for Kiara when he saw the Outsiders. He was later assigned to find Kiara, just about when Simba found out Kiara was missing.

...it's so simple.. Lions are the dominant animals in the Pride Lands, and nobody could fight against an entire pride. The lionesses were on Pride Rock, so they couldn't have seen them.

But still, you'd think that with a whole other pride plotting to overthrow your entire kingdom, Simba might have taken a few more precautions i.e. border patrol, stationing animals around the Pridelands as watchguards, etc. Zira was definitely a force to be reckoned with, with a significant number of lionesses on her side, so it's not like she was just some common rogue that could easily be chased away. Mufasa did a good job of this in the first movie, when the gopher reported within minutes that hyenas had invaded the Pridelands. Maybe defending his kingdom was something Mufasa never got the time to teach Simba as a cub, or he just seriously underestimated the power of the Outlanders. Either way, it took the actual invasion for him to learn the hard way that Zira wasn't just all bark and no bite. :P

On a side note, I feel like this topic has been discussed before. I'm going to look around and see if I can find it... :?

Maybe he didn't have the time to assign the lionesses? I dunno, maybe he was too busy exiling a helpless lion before even hearing his side of the story and punishing his daughter for not agreeing with him and then enjoying his position as a king where he could do whatever he wanted?!

Good question! Never even thought about that but since I don't like Simba's Pride I guess it's normal.
I don't know... I don't blame Simba or Mufasa, I blame the careless writers. If he was always that concerned and was so overprotective and the danger was that huge he should have done something about it not just sit around and [censored] and moan everytime Kiara wanted to do something. Timon and Pumbaa were the best he could get to protect his child?
