Scar has the REAL dark side of a villian. He has that pure, evil, dark shadow that can't be disappeared from his true self. No light could ever shine on him and his life since he had dark motives to try killing his brother and nephew to get his one wish; to be the king. When I first saw TLK for the first time, I had the instinct in myself telling me that this lion was going to be the villian when we first see him in the beginning. His first words are "Life's not fair is it? You see I, well I will never be king" and we can easily infer that something about kingship is a wish for Scar to have. Later on when Mufasa's death is about to happen, the way he says "Long live the king." is pure devil-like and evil. It's truly an experience to see how his jealousy of Simba being the future king, increases his hate towards the youngster as he gets older and brings out Scar's true personality over time. He was the one lion that starts the fued between Simba and Zira in TLK2 and makes them enemies and is the one that is appiled into Kovu's life being just like him , which he didn't want to be and nothing to do with him. I feel that Scar symbolizes hate and what brings into the major characters like Simba, Kovu, and Zira.
