Kiara's Hunt

I have been thinking of this for a while-
Why was Kiara sent to hunt by herself? Lions hunt in packs and the likelyness of a first-time hunter bringing down her prey by herself is very unlikely. Lionesses take down prey together. If they wanted Kiara to have a ceromony style hunt maybe they could've let her lead the hunt, or maybe make the actual kill. But why just by herself?
I don't think Disney thought this through....

I always thought that since it's her first hunt, she'd do it alone. Just to prove she's worthy to hunt with the other lionesses.

It's probably a tradition of the Pride Lands or something. Like the betrothal tradition.

It's probably to prove that she has the strength/skill/speed to keep up with the other lionesses when they hunt. In rare cases lions do need to be able to hunt on their own (such as when Nala tried to chase down Pumbaa in the first movie) Funny how she never actually passes this test but is still made queen of the Pridelands *shrugs*
Or maybe, like Kops said, it's a sort of rite of passage to see if she's "worthy" of joining the pride or something.

I guess, but as I said, to enforce the fact that they hunt in a group, you'd think the tradition would be that she was the one who made the kill or lead the party.

well lions hunt In packs and ALONE. I heard that on bbc channel.

I have no idea why they really made it that way in the movies, but in MY fan-world, it's a right of passage kind of thing.
In my theory, that's when Nala runs off. Scar allows her to go out alone to hunt, because he cares for tradition as much as the next lion (and it might help bring in more food) and when Sarabi and her mother escort her to the hunting 'zone' or whatever, they tell her to leave and either not come back and save herself, or go and find help.

So, I think it's a tradition ^^
