Amanda, but I think they meant just this first film since they started this topic on the first film's board and not in the Beyond The Lion King boeard. (:

And the reason why only males die in this first film is likely because killing off characters isn't supposed to be the main purpose of the story but the Cirlcle of Life and a person's place in it, and the story is about the place of a king. Any possible female lions' deaths during the final battle thus weren't essential to show.

That's what I think anyway.
