Lobo was out cold, he had no idea there was anyone else around (bar the company he was already with!)
He lay on his back, with his mouth wide open, drooling slightly.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sairra could not sleep that night. Her glowing eyes almost lit up the cave, she sighed and rolled over to her other side "I hope this all goes to plan" She thought to herself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Karu also could not sleep, something was boring in her skull "Something's up" She said at a whisper. After staring out the cave for a good 10 minutes, she got up and padded to the very very edge of Priderock and looked down, leaning far over the edge. She considered jumping, she wondered if anyone would miss her, she leaned even further over and breathed in deeply. The wind blew hard and she felt alive, she could so easily fall, but she didn't. When the wind calmed she took a step back and chuckled "If only mother knew..." She lay down and fell asleep.

Dash had gotten only an hour or two of sleep, for he stayed up most of the night keeping watch at his post atop a small mound. He struggled to keep his eyes open as he sat, his head hung low from lack of sleep. The rays from the sun were warm against the dark stripes that were draped along his back and soothed his restless mind. Something moved out of the corner of his eye and his head snapped up in the direction. He was instantly alert and focused on a termite mound not too far from his position. As he lowered his body to the earth, he spotted a lone male lion slowly making his way from termite mound to termite mound. Unaware of Dash's presence, the lion reached a tree and came to a stop, facing the opposite direction. Dash looked back at his two sleeping comrades and considered waking them up, but there was no time. Anyway, He thought, If i get into trouble, I'll have some backup. Still unsure if he could take the lion on one-on-one, Dash silently made his way toward the tree. He made sure his steps were precise, making no sound whatsoever as he closed in on his target. When he got but 15 feet from the lounging lion, Dash rushed into a full sprint and pounced upon him. The lion hardly had time to turn his head as Dash hurled himself upon him and quickly pinned him to the ground, Dash's claws digging into his shoulders. "What are you doing here?" Dash asked in a low, unforgiving tone, his face stern and motionless. He prepared himself for a fight if the lion retaliated. He was much bigger than himself as far as weight and could probably out-muscle him.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kovu slowly began to wake up, his eyes still fuzzy from his sleep. He looked at the front of the den and saw his daughter laying out in the sun at the edge of pride rock. Now why is she up there? He wondered and lifted himself, beginning to walk to where she lay.
Vitani woke up and noticed her brother outside. He had seemed very indifferent about losing his family, however she hadn't had a chance to really talk to him yet. She walked over to him hoping to have a word before everyone else caught him up again. "Kovu, can I talk to you privately?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nala woke up with a start when Vitani walked past her on her way outside. She looked at Vitani silently, studying her. There was something about Vitani that moved her heart, yet she still couldn't figure out what it was. As Nala continued watching Vitani she started suspecting that perhaps the young lioness had something to do with why she felt so disturbed lately. Sighing she looked over at her sleeping daughter Kiara and nuzzled her softly, then tried to catch a few more minutes of sleep before it was time to run the land again.

Ethan's eyes grew wide as a strange cheetah pinned him to the ground. "I - I live here!" he stammered. "The outlands are my home, since King Simba doesn't want me living in the pridelands..." He stopped and wondered why he was scared of a cheetah. Being Ethan was young, the cheetah was about the same size as he was. "Um, what are you doing here?" Still thinking the lions had moved on, he added, "I thought you would have gone with your friends when they left."

~~~
Kiara opened one eye and smiled a sleepy smile when her mother nuzzled her. Still half-asleep, she looked around the den... everything was as it should be. She closed her eyes again, fully intending to sleep through half the day.
Dash remembered back to yesterday when he saw the figure running off in the distance. It was him, He thought, looking down at the young lion. "So, you were spying on us," He said coolly, ignoring his question and slowly pushing his claws into the lion's shoulders. "Why?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kovu heard paws walk up from behind him and turned his head to see his sister, Vitani walking up to him. "Sure Vitani," He began to walk around pride rock to where they were out of earshot. "So, whats on your mind Vitani?"

Ethan suddenly grew braver. "Spying? If a small group invaded your home, wouldn't you be spying too?" He quickly pushed the cheetah off him and stood to face him. "Anyway, I kept my distance. I never even heard anything except when they were shouting. I was waiting until you all left so I could get my tree back." I was trying to avoid a confrontation like this, he thought. "What are you doing here?" he asked again, a little curtly.

Dash let his guard down and was shoved off of the lion. He landed on his feet and kept a fighting stance while the rouge stood himself up and explained himself. The more the lion spoke, the more Dash began to ease up. He obviously didn't want a fight nor had any bad intentions toward Dash or his friends. He knew he was taking a risk with what he was going to say, but he saw not a drop of malcontent with the newcomer. "If you really must know," He said, now standing upright. "We are preparing for an attack on Pride Rock. My friend intends to take his rightful place as king of the Pridelands, so we've just been gathering allies to assist us in our conquest. We're moving out today so you can have your precious little tree back."
