Looks pretty cool without the whiskers, but yes I did actually notice this one when I watched the film.

I never noticed his whiskers missing too! Maybe Simba's whiskers in that scene was just forgotton for a little bit then that's all.

Another little contribution to this thread: I still have my cub Simba action figure from the old days, and lookie here -- no whiskers or ear rims!

I has that same figurine. Also without the earrims.
As for the whiskers, I don't really think you can add them on a figurine physically, they'd probably just snap off.

I notced this, and I peronally think they shouldv'e left the scene out anyway. I think it ruins it.

Well, that's also the scene that they only added in for the special release. I, for one, dislike the animation in it anyway. Totally not as good as the rest of the film. They made Simba so... cartoony, if that makes sense. I'd just blame carelessness and lack of attention to detail by the Disney people for the poofing of the whiskers.
