Kovu

I don't know if we can ever encompass the massive and complex tale of Kovu, he is a being born to darkness and raised to destroy the light, yet he becomes part of it, we see a story in which someone rejects their fate and forges their own....

Very philosophical, Herr Prince. Indeed, TLK II has always symbolized that you always have a choice and it's never too late.

Perhaps you always have a choice, but at some point the deal is less sweet. Kovu suffers a lot for not being straight forward with the Pridelanders, and is emotionally compromised for a good deal of time. He succeeds, but at what cost?

It's true that Kovu's life was very costly; losing his 'brother' and his 'mother' in his messed up life filled with despair and hatred, but he found what he was missing: love. Thanks to Kiara, He lost what he needed to lose, and gained what he needed to gain.

you see, this is why I am so attached to this character, he fights and fights and eventually gets what he needs, I cling to this in hopes that it can prove true for anyone. Kovu is a secret hope of mine. He is a troubled character, who is in fact honorable and is yet "human" and fallable, thus able to be connected to.

You are the first person to tell me this. Everyone I know talks about Kovu as an emo. I never thought of him as an emo. He's just, as you said, a troubled guy. He's made his fair share of mistakes in the past, and all he wants to do is put his past behind him.

He wants more than just that, he wants to grow and become more than his predecessors, I desire this as well. Kovu is a hero of sorts, he is born of the darkness and grows into something beautiful (ironic, I know)

No one could have said it better Rogue. Kovu is quite literally the definition of 'a light in the darkness'.

My friend, I would define him as a shadow, a place where both light and dark exist, he can never truly escape his past, but he seeks to benefit others with his experience. He tries to behave like the light, but he has the knowledge and power of one trained to use it....

You, my friend, have opened my eyes. I would never have thought of Kovu like this before. I have nothing to argue with you about when it comes to Kovu, I can only agree.
