Outlander Lionesses

They can't all have been Pridelanders. The Pride at the end of the first movie numbered about a half dozen, the fighters at the end of SP numbered nearly two dozen, that's a lot of new lionesses.

Well, Simba said that there's a book that says that they were exiled during Mufasa's reign. Maybe only Zira and her cubs got exiled, and Zira told them that if they help her avenge Scar's death and take over the Pride Lands (or kill Simba, w/e), she'd let them stay in the Pride Lands and have high positions in the pride (like Scar did with the hyenas). I always found it impossible for an entire group of lionesses to be royal to the lion that turned the Pride Lands into a living hell, bought the hyenas in and didn't care about the future of the Pride Lands or the lionesses (-You have sentenced us to death! -Then so be it!).. unless they were all crazy in love with him o.O

I don't know a random group of lionesses with no allegance to anyone would have been good for Scar. It begs the question of why he wouldn't recruit them to fight for him. His mate found it easy enough.

I think they were partly lions born during Scar's reign and partly born in the Outlands.

Because Scar needed a follower and even in general life goes on scenario - realistically there had to be some mating going on, then new cubs born and grown up during Scar's reign. Lions that look like him. Not to mention that his reign must have lasted for four to five years in the least. Regarding Simba's physical development seeing to real life facts of male lions' growth.

So it is actually TLK film's mistake that it doesn't show lions that look like Scar.

Zira was a psycho, fanatic, obsessed fan girl of Scar's and apparently the only one. No one else of the outlanders really cared about Scar or getting the Pride Lands back. As in everyone but her had been unhappy with Scar's reign, just like the hyenas. Remember how when it came to the moment of truth, everyone else but Zira gave up and joined Simba's side and even showed fed-up expressions. I think the others of the banished ones had done Zira's bidding only in bitterness for being banished even though they hadn't been Scar's supporters. As in, Simba had likely not listened to any one of them, just thrown out every single one who had any relation to Scar. In his own open-wounded bitterness as well as in mistrust, in means to protect the original pride and especially his mother, Nala and their future children. As I really don't think Simba had even nearly the wisdom his father would've had at that point of his life. Having just left the immature life style couple of days ago, but also learned that he had trusted his father's murderer all those years and who had proven to be completely and utterly not trustworhy. So why would he trust or care about anyone related to that person...

Zira could've been one of the original lionesses we didn't get to see during Simba's childhood. It is highly unlikely in the face of logic, that Scar was supposed to be the only one in the pride who looked essentially different. He was just the only one shown because the story was about him and his brother and nephew - not about the lionessess/pride.

Nice, a focus to the movie providing a path along which we travel to the exclusion of all else. With this focus in use, we avoid the showing of nonessential characters (Zira, cubs, outsiders, etc.) and thus forestall the revealing of these characters until SP. Very clever Disney....

I suppose that Zira recruited many lionesses and others were born in the Outlands.
