"You Will Never be Mufasa!"

Does this line that Kiara says in SP bother anyone else? I don't know if it's just me... but, she doesn't even know Mufasa. Even though I know it's true, still.

Well, it's very complicated. Because you see, Simba isn't being really him because he's under anger and then Kiara gets very upset and angry too. Personally, it didn't bother me. It did shock although. It's a very powerful line. And maybe Simba talked to Kiara about Mufasa because he also talked to her about Skar. ;)

I liked how Simba was trying the whol movie to be Mufasa, but he couldn't really pull it off.

I think it`s a bit odd that Kiara says this because she never met Mufasa, never truly knew him.

BUT I also love that she says it because in that moment of brutality she gives Simba a harsh reality check, something he sorely needed.
I think that Simba has told Kiara a lot about Mufasa, enough to make Kiara realize that Simba wants to be exactly like him.
Before Kiara speaks that certain line, Simba even tells her straight out: "..and I need to follow in my fathers footsteps." Here he also implies that Kovu is exactly like Scar just because he was chosen as his heir.
Kiara understands that Simba wants to be Mufasa, just as Simba believes that Kovu is just like Scar. If that makes sense.

Also, maybe Nala have talked with Kiara about this, in an attempt to make Kiara have a deeper understanding of her father and why he behaves the way he does.

To sum up, I have no doubt that Kiara knows a lot about Mufasa based on what Simba has told her, and I think she realizes that Simba is trying to be Mufasa the second.

We can't assume that Kiara knew everything about Mufasa or Scar, but the implications given about the characters of both can lead one to assume the basis of who they were. It is quite easy to see that Simba does not epitomize the goal he wishes to reach, being like his father, in fact, he has kind of gone overboard with his anti-Scar prejudices. Kiara, wishing to strike a retalitory blow for Simba exiling Kovu and dashing her hopes of love, strikes Simba in the place he holds most dear, his father's memory. This reality check actually does far more than she know's in bringing Simba back to reality; he did actually need this....

Duplicate topic. I don't usually point this out but... There's one already with the same title, and it's on the same page. You should use the Search function before making a new topic in the future :] viewtopic.php?f=32&t=9933

Actually, the details are important, we see a completely different side of both of them in this outburst. Kiara is shown to have an underlying rebellion and Simba reveals the true depths of his contempt for "Scar's Heir"

It's obvious that she knew Mufasa to an extent, however small it was. Since Simba was very close to Mufasa, it would only make sense he would tell stories about his father. Simba would obviously say how amazing, kind and wonderful he was; thus Kiara knew that (At least to her) her father was not worthy of being Mufasa's son. (Who was amazing)

That's my theory. :)

Interesting, though I am not sure many would appreciate you saying Simba is not worthy of being Mufasa's son. It seems to me that though Simba has his flaws, this is a misunderstanding

Yes, Simba is misunderstood, and I agree with you. I was just thinking of Kiara's point of view. :)
