Yeah, I do believe Simba survived after the fall. ^^
So in the end the hero did triumph, just the villian won the final fight. I think this would've been more interesting than the typical 'The hero returns and defeats the villian and everyone lives happily ever after' It adds an unexpected twist to the ending. ^^

Hehe. Just saying... I don't think it's good to take as facts things that are just stated without any reference to the source of information. Because otherwise they may just as well be made up by the poster and claimed falsely as facts. And certain things in this fandom - unfortunately - are claimed to be facts though the actual facts from the commentary track deny them.

Those things LilTiger stated in the original post, are indeed facts though; anyone who has listened to the commentary track and/or watched the bonus materials of the DVD, knows those things. So, those aren't as little known facts as LilTiger assumes in the title.

Well, not everyone has the DVD TPAM, I for one make due with the Tape version and had never heard of that before I read this post. Though yes, indeed, these are facts and it is a pity they were sidelined in the movie....

Yeah but the OP assumes that all of us others might not have known yet the DVD release certainly isn't a stranger to, likely the majority of people. It's been out there for numerous years and they've stopped selling VHS tapes long ago and DVDs can be played almost by anything these days. I'm not saying everyone should have the DVD or anything like that, just saying it is likely more people have that than just the VHS. (:

Well, I guess I'm just at a dissadvantage then, since I wasn't really interested in TLK when it came out on DVD I didn't get it. I have been looking for it, but can't find it anywhere but ebay, and people there charge you an arm and a leg....

I don't know what DVDs normally cost where you live or how much money you are able to put into buying it but I can find it from e-bay in normal prices from 10 to 20 dollars + shipping.
