Chapter one: My beginning

Morning appeared in the sky, a new cub was born into a pride, and that cub, was no doubt, me. I was now the new family member. My parents nuzzled each other before me they seemed proud and happy to have me, then my mother, Vitani, padded towards the den, keeping me by the scruff of my neck and laying down in the middle of the den. My relatives padded into the den towards me, nuzzling my mother first, and then staring down at me happily. “He’s such an angel” One of them would say before nuzzling me. I would purr softly and roll to the side, as of course I was tired from the visits I had that morning. My mother licked my little head and nodded to the others to head out to let her and myself have a rest. My father, Kopa, was sitting outside with my grandfather, Simba. “Kopa, I’m proud of you my son, Zach is going to become a wonderful prince like you and myself once were, and become a great king.” He said smiling then he walked off as my father padded into the den. He looked towards me, my mother was sound asleep. I squeaked softly at him and moved around in my mother’s paws. My father smiled and lay beside my mother and picked me up and placed me into his paws. “You’re even mischievous when you’re an infant,” He chuckled softly. “But as my father said, you still will be a great prince...” He said nuzzling my soft belly. I playfully pawed at his mane. “Now now young Zach my boy, you need some rest...” He yawned. “And so do I...” He said as he licked my head and lay his head down. I looked at my dad, I pawed his mane again and awaited his reply, but he was fast asleep. I soon too, fell dreamily into the new days ahead...
Chapter Two: Who’s this?

“Muuuuuuuum... No bathing me in front of everyone...” I pouted as my mother licked her tongue across my forehead. She chuckled. “Now now Zach, Every cub has to get clean somehow...” She smiled down at me. “Even the royal family.” She continued. “But there are things called the river, ponds and more, they would be better to bathe in when you in front of everyone.” I murmured. “And there are things called crocodiles...” My mother said as she looked at me. “This way, Is much safer.” I sat there quietly until she had finished bathing me then I jumped out from her paws. “Where’s dad?” I stared. “Your father has to look around the kingdom for rogues and other prides, he’ll be back shortly, for now, why don’t you go play with one of the other cubs?” She smiled and sat up on the small boulder she had been cleaning me on. “Uhh... Yeah, sure mum...” I tried to smile towards her, then padded off towards this group of cubs. My ears were pinned back; I thought to myself, They will just be mean like all the others are, why doesn’t anyone see that? It’s probably just because I’m seen as the prince and supposed to have friends- I was interrupted by one of the cubs. “Enjoy your little bath young princess?” One of them said as the group laughed. “Of course he did! He’d love to be all clean and pretty so he’d be a perfect future queen!” The group laughed again. I drooped my head with my ears pinned back to my head. “God you guys, can’t you leave anyone alone?” A voice said. A cub with a multi-coloured tuft walked up towards me, he was about my age. “Don’t listen to them, they just enjoy the pleasure, after all that’s the only thing they can do, my names Zane.” He smiled at me. “Ugh Zane, Your no fun at all, let’s go leave the two “Lover birds” alone...” The first cub said and smirked. Zane rolled his eyes, he didn’t take the chance to reply, that would just continue the argument. “Don’t let them push you around like that, Ignore them like I did.” Zane smiled. I was too shy to talk. Out of all lions, why is HE being nice to me? What did I do? I looked up towards Zane. “Thanks for your help...” I said as I padded slowly off. “Where are you going? Don’t you want to play?” Zane grinned. I turned back towards him. “Uhh... Sure!” I smiled and walked back towards him.
