Kiara had fallen asleep at the entrance to the cave. She jerked her head up suddenly, but it was already night. Stars were twinkling far above her, and from the soft breathing and snoring she could hear from inside the cave, she guessed it was pretty late. Embarrassed, Kiara got up slowly, careful not to wake the others. She needed to make sure they were all alright before standing guard again.
Kiara crept quietly into the open mouth of the cave. It was difficult to see anything at first, but when her eyes grew accustomed to the darkness, she slowly padded forward. She made sure to check on Nala first. When she saw the empty pile of leaves, her heart skipped a beat. Then she noticed a trail of leaves on the ground. When she followed them, they led right up to the former queen. She was huddled in a corner away from the rest of the pride. Must have been uncomfortable, Kiara thought, and moved on.
Kokota was fast asleep near the wall of the cave, with his father Kovu lying down a few feet ahead of him. Chissa was nearby, and Vitani was sprawled on a low rock near the middle of the cave. The rest of the lionesses were deep in sleep too, though Kiara got the feeling that she had missed something. Shrugging, she went back to her post in the front of the cave and stood guard.

Chissa heard no answer from them.She went back to the place where she was sleeping,near Vitani,and closed her eyes.But she couldn't sleep that night.Nightmares were in her dreams all the time,so she woke up and went out of the cave.She saw Kiara here.She walked up to her and looked at her."Sorry...I just couldn't sleep."she quietly said and looked into the stars.She wanted to see Simba for the first time of her life.Him,a legend...Her mother had told her much about Simba,his braveness and strongness.Chissa always held a deep respect to Simba into her heart...She always wished to see the king,always called the Greatest King...Simba...
All those thoughts were in her head that night.She had seen how Nala was sad and unnatural and she knew that all that was for that traggical death.All the pride weren't the same after Nala's back.They wanted to comfort her,make her forget those disasters...But Chissa knew that all those things will never go out of Nala's mind...As well as her own...

Kiara was surprised to see a very tired-looking Chissa walk up to her and sit beside her. "It's alright Chissa," she said gently when the lioness explained that she couldn't sleep, "You can stand watch here with me." There was a brief silence. Kiara glanced over at her and was surprised to see her deep in thought, looking at the sky.
"Chissa what's wrong?" she asked softly. She seemed on the verge of tears.

Kiara interrupted Chissa's dreams.She looked at her."Umm...It's just that I...oh...It's that...we all can easily see that Nala isn't happy here with us.And,after traggical Simba's death...She will not be the same...All I want now is to get a chance to see Simba for the first time...You all keep saying that he was a great king,and I believe in that...I want Simba to be alive...We all would be happier,Nala too...Now,without Simba,everything is not that good,even after Nala's return...I think that you see this too,Kiara..."Chissa finished,and,after she took a breath,she said:"And,other thing:I love your son.I love Kokota.We were friends but now I just couldn't take it...He's too good to not be loved..."Chissa putted her head into Kiara's soft fur."I love your son,Kiara...I love him..."

OCC: My bad.
Kiara looked sympathetically at Chissa. "If you love him so much, I guess you'll be happy to learn that when you two were born, your mother and I decided to have you bethrothed. That means you two will be married some day!" She looked up at the sky and sighed. "We all miss Simba, Chissa." she said, her voice cracking. "He was my father, and everything you've heard about him is true. He was a wonderful ruler. I'm not sure what happened to him, but he's in a much better place now."
She turned her head so Chissa wouldn't see the tears on her face, hurriedly wiped them off, and added, "I've often wondered if there was a way I could talk to him again, just one more time. I never really got a chance to say good-bye. That's part of the reason I decided to stay watch tonight. I was hoping he might call me from the stars."

Chissa almost jumpedinto the air."Me and Kokota?Bethrothed?!Yay!!!"but then she saw that Kiara is not that happy."Yeah...I believe in all those stories...After all,he's like...Like my grandpa..."she looked into the sky and smiled.

Kiara smiled at the younger lioness, her eyes brimming with tears. Thinking about her father always made her feel unhappy, but she'd never broken down like this before. She didn't like it; it made her seem weak. She straightened up again, determined to look more confident than she felt. Chissa was staring wordlessly at the stars again, thinking. Kiara sighed and looked up as well. Somewhere up there, her father was watching over her and the rest of her pride. His time to rule had come and gone, and now it was hers and Kovu's turn.
Kiara didn't feel like she was ready yet. Simba had left her too soon. She didn't even know how to rule her kingdom properly, and she was certain Kovu felt the same way. Now with the addition of the former Outlanders into the Pridelands, it would be even more of a challenge. These thoughts and wishes filled Kiara's mind until finally the sky turned pink in the east and a new day began.

OCC: Okay Moka, now it's morning

Nala's eyes were hit by the sunbeam. She closed her eyes tight and bared her teeth. No...not already she thought to herself. She put her paw over her face and turned away, but it was no use. The den was full of sunlight now. It became increasingly louder as the pride woke up one by one. She shook the sleep out of her eyes and blinked, looking around the den. Kiara's cub was still snoozing. She envied how easily the youth and untroubled slept. Nala stepped out of the den. Kiara was standing just outside the entrance. "Good morning, Kiara." she said, trying to sound as pleased as possible.
