Kovu sat, looking down at the river. On the other side lay his former home, a land of painful memories and below him, the very river that swept away his mother and his brother's final resting place. He kept a calm composure, but couldn't avoid the pain that consumed him. He sat for a long time, looking back on memories until he heard a familiar voice. He whipped his head around. "Kiara!" He ran up the bank to find his mate, slightly worried. "Kiara, what are you doing here? You know that I'd be back." He said, running up and nuzzling her.
Dash circled the two lions, watching them, questioning whether or not he should try. That's my kill, He kept thinking to himself as he padded silently around them. Too focused on the lions, Dash stepped on a dry branch which made a loud crack. He dropped quickly to the floor and held his breath, hoping to not be noticed.
