I knew about Scar being a rouge, but not about the second be prepared! I bet it would have been epic if they kept it!

Yeah, here's the storyboard with that ending - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y14TwUGQ3xE

Also the "Be Prepared" reprise - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEBOYTGy ... re=related

Dunno if they've been posted here before, but they are interesting enough to be reposted :P

Heheh, i've seen those before. ^^
I love the alternate ending, seems much more fitting for Scar's end imo. :)

And I think they should've kept that Be Prepared scene, it would've given us a little more insight into Scar's reign over the Pridelands, which would've been great.

I also think the alternate ending is very cool, but a bit too dark to have fit with the actual film. I'm a little surprised they even considered having such an end for the film though; where the hero didn't get to triumph over the villain after all :O Otherwise I quite like it.

And I agree about the Be Prepared reprise. It would've been very fitting to have it there. Actually, I wish that was the scene they'd included in the Special Edition rather than Morning Report... xP

We forget, this is Disney, they have the 'We can do whatever we want and get away with it' badge, yet, it would have shut off the franchise, and we all know the only reason for the films were for money

What a very depressing thing to say. It is a reason, but not the reason. They didn't even think TLK would be much of a hit; Pocahontas was where the money was supposed to be made. I find it hard to believe that everybody who worked on TLK, or any film, only did it for the money; that no one did it for the joy of creating something amazing. Even Don Hahn, the producer of The Lion King. Money plays an important part in whether a film goes into production or not, yes, but it's not the only reason. At least before somebody realized that cheapquels will sell regardless of whether it's a good film or not.

Also I think that Disney has a hard time getting away with anything that isn't toddler-friendly these days. Really xP

I know it's a hard truth, and there may be some elements of joy and happiness in the making process, but every idea comes from money, and goes to money.

It seems like Simba survived in the end though, he was just banged up.
