Yes, the government is butting their noses into yet more places it does not belong. And it is not just our USA government. Australia and China, among others, are also doing it. For parents to restrict their child's access may indeed be on thing, but for the government to decide just what programs should be installed to block things worldwide is beyond extreme. That aside, it violates more than one part of the American Constitution - The freedom of speech. And the internet provides that more openly than any other form of communication, worldwide.

If people are so scared of stumbling onto harmful/hate sites then they shouldn't even be online >.> Yeah, I get censorship when it's for school and stuff, and as for children finding bad sites on the internet, well, I think that's more the parents' fault than the owners of the site imo. But seriously? Blocking out specific sites such as facebook because they might offend someone is like killing every single person on earth because they might say something mean to you. Yeh, weird analogy I know LOL. I'm a little sleep-deprived.
