Muroki kept on hopping, untill he understood that Vah wasn't going to tell him or show him anything untill they've been to the waterhole. He instead lay down on the black furred lion's head and let out a sigh of boredom. But I wanna see it. he said, using the same tone he used when he always begged to one of his parents to play with him. It didn't take him long to get up again, and look upside down Vah, giving him the big puppy-dog face, Please?

Vah sighed, partly in mock annoyance, and partly in defeat, as he knew he was never going to get Muroki to go to the waterhole first. Vah rolled his eyes and shook his head slightly as Muroki looked at him with his pleading eyes. "Okay, okay, I'll show you the surprise first, but when we get back, don't tell Kiara about it. She wouldn't approve of us going there." Vah began telling Muroki, although he didn't plan on saying why Kiara wouldn't approve of it. He would let Muroki work out why when they got there. Vah swiftly turned right and started to walk in the direction of "Hell's Gate".

As Vah agreed to take him to see the surprise right away, Muroki dropped the begging-cubbish face, Oh goody! he said as he looked at the direction Vah turned to, but he was unable to see anything that could have been his surprise. But he again wondered about the two adults as Vah mentioned Kiara. They did ee very close, and Muroki could tell that Kiara was pregnant, but he was still too young to understand those type of things. Ammm... he said after the two of them hadn't said anything for a few moments, How long untill... ammm... 'till your cubs are born? he asked, though he wasn't sure how was it possible for anyone to know such a thing. But Kiara's cubs could be like the little brothers and sisters he always wanted

Vah smirked at the cubs curiosity, almost wondering why they were always like that. "Correction: When will Kiara's cubs be born." Vah said, correcting Muroki and also grinning while saying it. "It's a long story, and not one that you would really like to know..." Vah trailed off at the end and dropped his grin, looking at the ground. He was clearly saddened by the thought of the Kiara's past, but was determined to put it behind him. "Anyway...We're almost there." He started, wanting to change the subject.

Muroki became confused, but he still wanted to know, Okay I guess... But when? he asked, wondering what did Vah mean by saying that the cubs were only Kiara's. But he was still excited by the fact that at some point he would have more cubs to play with, even if by that time he would probably grow bigger than he was now, it still sounded like it will be fun to have more cubs around

Vah rolled his eyeas at his own stupidity, and that stupidity being he forgot to tell Muroki the answer to his original question. "Well, luckily for you, it's only a few months from now." He told Muroki happily. It wasn't that Vah was glad to get away from Muroki, it was just that he was happy that there would be other cubs for Muroki to play with, instead of being an only cub. It would probably get quite boring without other cubs to play with. At least they would have the same amount of energy as Muroki does, and would be able to keep up with him. Vah, however, would need to get used to all the adventure that Muroki wants for the next couple of months, and that would be no easy feat to achieve.

Vah was quickly taken out of his train of thought when he noticed that they were basically right next to 'Hell's Gate.' they just needed to walk through the thicket of bushes in front of them and they were there. "Okay, just through here is the 'surprise' I was talking about. Tell me what you think of it." As soon as Vah managed to find a way through without the bushes scratching against both of them too much, he was immeadiately met by a barren wasteland that went on for what seemed miles, and although it seemed as if there couldn't be any life around here, there was. And it was dangerous life. "From a paradise, to wasteland in a few seconds...amazing." Vah still couldn't get over the fact that this was right on their doorstep.

Muroki again lay down when he was told that the cubs were a matter of months away. Oof... but that's alot. he said with some dissapointment in his voice. He really wanted to play with other cubs, since he never saw another cub in his life. And even if he was going to probably start his adolesence by the time they were born, it would still be fun having other cubs around. His excitement returned to him when Vah told him that they were there, though the only surprise he could see was a line of bushes spred like a border line. He was about to ask about the surprise, but didn't when Vah walked through the bushes, and revealed the wasteland.

Muroki was very playful and energetic, but he was still a shy, paranoid and easily-scared cub. He just stared at the barren land for what seemed like ages to him, but he snapped out of it at some point. Are... are you sure we should be here? he asked, feeling like jumping off the older lion's back and running back to the other side of the bushes, I don't have a good feeling about this..."

Vah acknowledged Muroki's fear of the barren plains that they had just entered, because to be honest, if Vah was a cub about Muroki's age, and he had just been taken into a desolate wasteland, then he would be scared too. Vah couldn't deny this, but he decided to keep going, as even if the place they were in was dangerous, Vah knew that danger was far from them both. Besides, this wasteland did go on for a long way, and Vah didn't encounter anything dangerous any of the times he came here on his own. Well...apart from that one time that he needed to fight off a couple of Hyenas that had wandered down here. Vah recieved a few cuts here and there from them, but it was nothing that didn't heal quickly, and he got the three of them to run off again...but he decided not to dwell on those thoughts as he continued further into the wasteland.

Vah then remembered that Muroki was still on his back, and how Vah forgot, he would never know. "Don't worry, I'm here to protect you, and besides, there isn't anything dangerous around here until you wander out all the way over to the horizon, which is a good mile or two away." Vah reassured Muroki, and he was pretty sure that there would be nothing dangerous around the place they were going to explore. Although, you can never be sure, but the odds of something like that happening was very unlikely. Or so he hoped. "I doubt we'll be going over there anytime soon." Vah remarked, smirking slightly for some reason that he didn't understand.

As Vah walked deeper into the barren wasteland, Muroki began to stutter. Bu- but this place is cr- creepy. he said, burrying himself in Vah mane as if he was hiding from an hyena in a bush. Maybe we... should go back? he asked hopefully, shaking uncontrolably on the lion's head

Vah began to look around at his surroundings, sweeping his vision across the landscape, just to make sure that there wasn't anything that would endanger them both. From what he could see, there was nothing dangerous to be found. From what he could see. That was what worried Vah. There were most definitely places that predators could hide, out of sight from anything else. Vah just shook his head slightly and dismissed the idea that there was anything watching them. Nothing would've come this far down, and those hyenas were just being very stupid, it was a freak occurrence.

Vah could feel Muroki shaking out of pure fear of the place, and he didn't blame him, really. Although one of the reasons that Vah took Muroki out here was becuase he needed to get over his fears of places like this. Overcoming fears and facing challenges is what life's about, and it was vital to be able to do this. Vah wanted Muroki to learn that quite soon, but he wouldn't pressure Muroki into understanding it right away, though. "Trust me, if I thought there was anything that could be a danger to us right now, I would go straight back from where we came from." he told Muroki, still walking forwards.
