I think he wasn't, but it is possible yes ^^. I just think they would have a scene in TLK with it, if he was actually there... Even as an extra on the DVD version.

i think scar was around while zira was pregnant with kovu and he decided that the new born will be his heir before he died

Nah, I've thrown that theory away. I think that Zira was lying on that part.. unless Simba and Nala had stayed in the jungle for more than a day, giving enough time for Kiara to be born just after Scar's reign? lol.

I don't think that Scar was around but that Zira only said he was the chosen one to be motivated.

I would think so, but I'm pretty sure Simba's return was probably only maybe a month at most (human time) after Kovu's birth. So Kovu was probably (in human time) about 6 months older than Kiara (around 2 lion years)

I believe that Kovu was hand chosen by Scar, he would've been just a 'newborn' before he died. But it's possible that Kovu is older than Kiara.. his growth was stunted by the harsh conditions of the Outlands. I mean he was clearly showing signs of maturity. (Mane-tuft on head, hair-tuft around arms) And this theory about his 'growth' actually has happened with lion cubs.

Zira's just cray cray. End of story. She either really believes Kovu was Scar's chosen one, or completely made it up. Either way, it can't be true that Scar was still alive when Kovu was born unless he somehow magically survived the hyenas and fire, in which case Zira wouldn't have had her vendetta against Simba. As for Nuka saying that Scar took Kovu in, well if people hear something enough they come to believe it. There's examples of that all over the place...
