Kiara quickly followed. Not only because she didn't want to stay alone all of a sudden, she was worried about Vah and whatever that was out there, she didn't want him to encounter it alone

Vah waited for Kiara to start following him before walking again. He didn't want to leave her on her own, but he also didn't want to go exploring this place himself, especially now that all of the animals had disappeared. He had absolutely no idea what to expect now, but he was glad he had Kiara with him so he didn't feel so alone and vulnerable. If he had to, though, he would give his life for Kiara so that the cubs would stay safe. "I don't like the silence of this place. It feels as if something could jump out at you at any moment..."

Kiara silently followed, still looking in all directions over and over again. The place seemed alot different from what it was in the first place, either by how lifeless it was now or by how scary it became all of a sudden. "Are you sure we should be here?" she asked, looking behind them and seeing some sort of movement. All she could see was a shadow moving from one tree to another, as if i was stalking them. She stopped walking and poked Vah with one of her paws, "Vah... I think there's something spooking around here." she said, hoping that those were the animals hiding from them and not the thing that might have scared them away

Vah kept his breathing as silent as possible to keep his hearing at a maximum, listening out for anything other than his and Kiara's movement. "Don't worry Kiara, it'll be fine, I'm sure of it." he said, reassuring her that everything would be okay. Besides, there couldn't be anything that could really harm them in any way unless it was another lion, and even if it was, Vah was certain that he would be able to defend Kiara. His fears rose again, though, as Kiara poked him to get his attention and told him that she had seen something. "Stay close, and be wary of any sort of ambush." he told her, getting even more cautious and anxious than before.

"Maybe we should just get out of here?" she asked, still looking around apprehensively, "What is there's another pride living here? Or something more dangerous?"

Vah quickly glanced at Kiara and then around him again, looking for any signs of movement like the rustling of a bush or a snap of a twig, any sign like that. Even though he was pretty scared at the moment, and he wasn't afraid to admit that, he tried staying as calm and collective as possible in the given situation. "Kiara, if there was another pride living around here, I'm sure I would've known about it by now, and what could possibly be more dangerous than a pride of Lions?" he asked, still edging forward, slowly and quietly, nervousness building up in his body every second he stayed here. "Where's your sense of adventure gone anyway?"

Kiara sighed, still looking around "I just don't think we should do something if it can be dangerous." She didn't want to lose another one she loved. Even though everyone usually thinks that such things wouldn't happen to them, sometimes they learn it the hard and painful ways. It was then when she heard a sound coming from behind a bunch of bushes. "Hello?" she asked carefully, looking at the bushes, which were now silent again since whatever was behind it was obviously looking at them

Vah sighed, knowing Kiara was right, but still wanting to continue onwards, even if it was quite dangerous. "Yeah, but taking risks is what life is for. It would be so boring without taking risks that the boredom could kill you." he managed to put on a rather forced smile at that sentence, but it was quickly removed as, he too heard a rustling noise in some foliage nearby to them. Vah slowly unsheathed his claws and glanced over at the foliage in which he Kiara heard the rustling noise, but all the while, being aware of his surroundings. "Be careful..." he whispered slowly to Kiara, silently growling at whatever was following them.

Kiara again noticed some rustling in the grass, but this time it sounded like the un-known animal was moving away from them. "Who is this?" Kiara asked again, and again getting no answer to her question.

Vah cocked his head to the side in suspiscion and started to wonder whether it was just the heat of the sun playing tricks on their minds. Even if this was true, he continued to keep his claws unsheathed, and snarled at the unknown animal that was in the foliage. Or so they thought. "Hey!" he shouted in the direction of the sound that they heard. "Show yourself! Whoever you are!" he slowly edged towards the bushes and readied himself for whatever would happen. That is, if there actually was anything there.
