A biography of SM

Postby SimbasMate » September 3rd, 2010, 2:38 am

Well, I have always wanted to share a big biography of myself, and to let more of you know about me, even though you may think that you already know "everything" about me. And since I like writing stuff about my life and stuff, the biography field just isn't enough to list everything.. ^^ Know that I will NOT share all the personal stuff in my life, on a public forum, obviously. I like to keep that to myself.

Anyways..

Chapter 1, Part One: Birth & Early Days

I was born, in Portland, Maine, in Maine Medical Center; November 4th, 1994. I was originally supposed to be born on Halloween, (October 31st) but I was late I guess. ^^ When I was born, I had dark brown curly hair, the nurses all said that I was as cute as a button. (I don't agree with that now, lol.) My mother and my father were so proud, of their second daughter, their third child. My mother named me, after her middle name, which is obviously "Crystal". My middle name is half of my father's name. Brian. So my middle name, is Brianne. I was a healthy cubbie when I was born. But a few days after I was born, my mother was breast feeding me, and my face suddenly turned purple. I was rushed to the E.R. The doctors had my mother and father wait in the waiting room, as they examined me. As they explained, it was such a shock. I was born with a congenital heart defect. My mother and my father were so scared for me. The doctors explained I needed three operations in order to survive. My parents agreed.

I, personally, have no idea how to explain my heart defect as a matter of fact. It has a bunch of random weird and long names that I have forgotten. So just for the record, let's say that I was born with a hole in my heart. Usually people are born with four chambers in their heart, in mine, I only have two, and they work as one. During the surgeries I had to stay hooked up to a heart-lung machine. This kept me alive, and breathing. I have no idea of how it worked though. I was on it for such a long time, the doctors warned my parents that I will have some learning disabilities. They were right, because I have, and I always will. They didn't know if it was the heart-lung machine, or if babies with CGH (congenital heart defects) were born with them, due to the CGH.

After the surgeries, I finally got to go home with my parents. It took about 3-4 weeks! My family was relieved that I was alright. The doctors gave me a perscription, which is my heart medication I have to take for as long as I live. It is called "Enalipril" and I have to take baby asprin once a day as well, to prevent blood clots. The enalipril makes it so my heart doesn't have to work as hard, to pump blood through out my body.

As a kid, I was very shy, but once I got to know people, I was very out going. Before I even started school, I remember laying on the couch, with my blankie, and my stuffed cat that my mother had gotten me when I was in the hospital. Miss Kitty. Creative name, eh? My very first obsession was Elmo.. and Winne The Pooh. But hey, we all start in those stages, right? ^^ My greatest fear was the game "Operation". I did not like the buzzing noise at all, and I would just run away when anyone would play it.

~To be continued~

Hope you all like it so far, I will post part two tomorrow hopefully!

Interesting read, I find it quite captivating when people are writting about their life, the style is different to say reading a fantasy story for instance.
I have a cousin who, I am told has a hole in her heart too, at first I was like o.0 but now i'm under the assumption that it is the same thing you have or at the least a variant of it. So that was quite interesting to read.

A nice bit of writting though so far, SM :).

I really love your biography. You impact so much detail from the time of your heart defect starting in your life, but you try not to let that take over your life. I can't imagine how it's like to have a heart defect, but you're very interesting. All of your details are interesting to read from a point of view. If someone can't see that kind of life, then they should look back at this beginning of the biography.Overall, yours is really good. :)
