The Pride Lands (Zeke, NM, kovu42, morri908)

[Zeke]

"Thats the whole problem," Zeke said, somewhat concerned. "There is no place to hunt. The resources here are so scarce that there are no herds around here for miles. Do you think we should just move? If we don't go somewhere soon, we wont last too much longer."

"I don't think we have much of an option in that. As you said, there really isn't anything left here. So... Yeah, we should probably go somewhere else....Otherwise, we are as good as dead. And I don't really feel like being dead right now. Only problem is, which way?"

[Zeke]

Zeke looked around at what had once been a lush savanna swarming with animals. There was hardly any grass in either direction near their cave and there were no animals to be seen anywhere. "Umm..." Zeke said as he thought. There really is no better place to go. He continued scanning until he saw a slight rise in the terrain. "How about that way?" He asked, motioning his head towards the distance. "Looks promising."

Tai looked in the direction Zeke was pointing, then checked to make sure that the direction he was pointing in wasn't south. South was the way back to were Tai and Nanati were from, and neither of them wanted to see that place again. However, it was abundant in food, and had sustained Tai's pride of twelve lionesses for several years. He looked at Zeke and said, "Yeah, Not like there's much more, To the south is a 3 day trip through the desert. I would know, I walked it." Tai looked to Nanati and then to Mila. "What do you two think? It's ultimately up to you."

Mila sat down gently and listened quietly to the two males converse with each other. Tai made a good point by saying that there wasn't much around to eat or even look at, so she looked around at her surroundings to see if there was anywhere she could see that looked promising. She blocked out the deep voices of the two males and scoped her surroundings, trying to spot anything that looked promising. To much dismay, she could not see anything that looked anywhere near promising, so she began paying attention to the conversation that was taking place besides her again. She listened just in time to hear Tai ask a question directed towards herself and the lioness that was to her side, and really had no response to it. "Well, nothing around looks promising. Are you sure you want to go back home....?" Mila paused. She hadn't really gotten all of the details out of Nanati yet, but she had the main idea. "After what happened there?" She said abruptly, but cautiously. She didn't want to make the two uncomfortable, especially around Zeke. Zeke wasn't one that had soft feelings.

After paying attention to everything that had occured between the lions and lioness around her, Nanati felt the need to speak her opinion, even though it wouldn't help much. "..." Nanati opened her muzzle to speak, but found that nothing would come out. She found it hard to choose her words before she spoke them, and when she spoke, it was obvious that she had thought about it before paw. "I don't have any desire to go back to that... place." Nanati paused, emphasizing the word place to indirectly inform her buddies what she thought of it. "The issue at paw is going to require us to move, but if that is the only place we can go to escape this hunger, I'll gladly take the hunger." She was a bit annoyed that the only option they seemed to have was one that she truly had no intention of doing at all. Nanati's face showed her feeling of annoyance as she looked to the side with a rather irritated expression, letting a quiet but hearable "Hmph."

Tai looked at Nanati, he didn't want to return to that place either, not after what had happened. " I never said i wanted to go back their either, but if it keeps you and Mila alive, I would deal with it." He nuzzled her and said, "I would do anything for you Nanati." He then looked around, he could think of a few places that he had heard of during his travels as a cub, but they were all occupied by a pride, and going to them could cause trouble. Even so, they had little options in where to go, and back home, was not one of them. He looked to the three others and said, "We could head East, I remember hearing stories of lush grasslands to the east."

Zeke thought for a moment and looked east. The terrain wasn't too bad and the horizon looked promising as far as food goes. "East it is then," Zeke said in discontented voice. "Its better than anything I had in mind." He looked over at Mila who was sitting slightly off to the side. "You up for it Mila?"

Mila responded quickly to Zeke's question with a straight forward answer. "Yup." She didn't really care where she went, as long as it was away from here. And if it had food.

Nanati blushed at Tai's flattery. "Oh... stop it" Nanati said, unable to get rid of the grin planted on her muzzle. She continued to blush through Zeke's words and was not able to get rid of it, as Tai kept looking over towards her with the same look he always gave her when he wanted to make her blush.

"Well, are we going to stand around all day or are we gonna go look for food?" Tai said as his stomach started to rumble. Just thinking about eating was making him hungry, and the lionesses were even more hungry then he was.
