This scene is a memorable way to show passing of time, it is eye catching and doesn't fail to hold up the quality of the movie. 8-)

I actually love the idea of seeing somebody as a kid (age 8) then a teen (15), then an adult (21), at least those are the ages I imagine Simba as he grows up.
What does Integural mean?

Anyway, I think (like KM said) that it was a nice and unique way to show how Simba growing up in the jungle.. I’m glad they did it like that instead of just cutting from one scene (cub) to the next (adult) like they did in Bambi, f.ex.
This ^^

I think they were thinking, "Ah whip mah hayr back 'n forth!" :nehneh:

But with all seriousness, I believe that it was a symbol of all the years Simba spent in the jungle with Timon and Pumbaa and how he proceeded to move on with his life even after his father's death and to live with "Hakuna Matata". After the next scene though, it shows how even though he has all this fun with his friends, he still feels the pain for his father.

Exactly; there is not even a log there it is just a visual metaphor to show the process of ageing.

Okay. What do you mean by "The log wasn't even there" or whatever you said? :/
