[Open] Kopa's Pride

Ashiki nodded. She turned back to Chiwa. "How's the pain?" she asked softly, as if mentioning it would send the lioness into fits of horrible pain. Her blue-grey eyes looked at the side of the dark lioness. All the scars were unsettling. This lioness had a very mysterious past. Kopa needed to be here. She didn't know if having her around for long was good or not.

"A bit better,thank you." Chiwa said,beaming at her. She couldn't help but notice,however,that Ashiki kept glancing at her scars,which made her a little worried.

Mheetu saw the large tree that is that there den so he ran quickly to it so his mate wouldn't get too worried, it was like he would never get there. He looked around at the scary trees and the wind was making them blow over him. He got a bit frightend but kept on going. He got to a large rock and lay on it for few minutes, he was exhausted. He woke up a few minutes later and he ran over to the tree still trying to wake up from the short dream he had. It was another dream about Kopa but he tryed to forget about it. He finally got to his den. He ran over to his mate and said " Hi hun, I'm back" he smiled but he looked sooo tired even though he had a short rest.

Laini suddenly noticed her mate come back, wandering where he had been, "Welcome back hun, where have you been?" she asked, looking up at him and noticing how tired he looked. "Everything okay? You seem exhausted." she said, getting o her feet and walking over to him, "Maybe you should rest for a while?" she suggested, hoping that maybe a nap against her mate's warm fur will be relaxing

Mheetu smiled again hearing his mates voice "I Got lost.." he said falling to the hard ground, he fell asleep and curled up into a ball. He dreamed of Kopa getting chased by Zira. He kept moving in his sleep because of this awful dream.

Noticing Mheetu fall asleep, Laini took advantage of this rare oppertunity and cuddled up close to him like she always enjoyed doing, and settled her head in his soft mane, purring slightly as she rested there and said nothing. Her mate was mostly out of the den, and her being near the end of her pregnancy made it hard for her to follow him around if she wanted to. So now that he wasn't going anywhere for a while, Laini decided that it was a good chance to spend some time with him, even if he was asleep

Kichaa ate all the zebra she could fit in her gut and sat down quietly. Ashiki was talking to Chiwa and she didn't want to overwhelm the new lioness. She just decided to eavesdrop a bit. Her ear picked up something. "Wait...you're from the Outlands? I'm from the Pridelands," she said, facing Chiwa. Her voice dropped off a bit. "Zira's pride..." Kopa had told stories of when he fled from Zira. Kichaa knew her a bit from Scar's reign, that old hag creeped her out to no end when she was a cub. She raised her head and flashed a grin to attempt to make the situation less awkward. Her efforts were unsuccessful.

Kitama kept her ears perked and alert, listening to the others as they spoke to the new lioness named Chiwa. The old lioness continued eating casually, though the fact that Chiwa was from the Outlands raised her suspicions a bit. Kitama knew that this lioness was weak and unable to handle a whole pride alone, even at full health, but that wasn't to say that Chiwa didn't have friends or that she harbored a grudge against anyone to do with the Pridelands.

Kitama swallowed her last bite, no longer hungry. The lean lioness made it a point to never overfill herself so that she could remain light and speedy if needed. She moved away from the carcass and began to clean the blood from her muzzle, slowly and deliberately licking her paw and caressing her face. It wasn't good manners to go around with a blood-encrusted muzzle.

She shook out her ears to rid herself of the bothersome flies that had gathered around the zebra's body and stood up. She thought for a few moments and then made a decision, walking over to where Chiwa lay.

"I'm Kitama," she said shortly. "I wanna know why you're here and how you got those injuries. You're new, I don't trust you yet, and being from the Outlands--well, let's just say I wasn't happy when they were so easily let back into the Pridelands without further investigation. What is your business, being around here?"

The lioness's voice was gruff and a bit harsh, and her face grumpy, but her stance was relaxed--she didn't expect a fight from this poor lioness.

OOC: Sorry guys, I'm having serious writers block lately.

As Kitama approached, Ashiki inched away a little bit. The older lioness was always very upfront, to say the least. However, she was probably the more important lionesses in the pride. She was not afraid, but rather intimidating, of strangers. And she always told you exactly how she felt about you, whether good or bad. And now, she was asking the questions that had probably been on everyone's mind for a while now.

Ashiki heard that word again, Outlands. She could not imagine the place. She had heard some of the other members mention the words before, but no one ever really talked about it. It seemed like a dark place. And, based off of what Kitama had just said, there must have been a pride there who were at odds with their neighbors.

The pieces of the puzzle were coming together in her mind. Kitama was part of the pride that was at odds against the... Outlanders, Ashiki gave the name. And since Kitama was part of Kopa's pride way back when, she assumed the Outlanders were the ones who attacked him when he ran away.

Ashiki looked upon Chiwa with a new eye. Was she as evil as the pride who tried to kill Kopa?

Chiwa winced as Kichaa mentioned Zira,the lioness whose pride her mother had once been part of; the lioness she had heard such horrible stories about.There was no mistaking the tension that had arised among the group; whatever Zira had done to them,it was terrible. It occured to Chiwa that unless she completely dissassociated herself from everything that had to do with Zira and her pride,she could not expect them to let her stay in their kingdom.
"My mother was born into Zira's pride,but she was exiled for some reason,she never told me why." she explained quickly, "But she didn't dare return to the Pridelands,so she ventured even further away. Where she met my father,who was a rogue. They started a pride of their own." She looked down. She hadn't thought about her parents in a long time,and she now realised why; the memories were rather painful still.

She then heard Kitama's voice. Surprised,and somewhat offended by the manner in which she addressed her,she turned around.
"I'm here,because I was..well,I ran away." She said. "My parents were horrible to me,and I couldn't take it anymore,so I ran off." This was not entirely true,but she assumed that the fact that she had accidentally killed her older brother would raise some suspicions. She therefore left that part out.
"I was attacked by a rogue not far away from here,which is why I have scars." She continued, "And I have been wandering about this valley for a while now because I don't have anywhere else to go. I would have died if I hadn't found it,I didn't even know there were other lions here at first,so I figured I could stay."
She gazed at Kitama for a while before turning away,her eyes filling up with tears.
