In real life Africa, these rock formations do exist, but mostly they aren't as high as the rock seen in TLK. I even saw a documentary about a lion pride who actually used such a rock as their home point to rest and to overlook the savannah. :malka:
Wow! TLK IRL! I would have loved to go to Africa and see that.

Did you know..
That during the fist movie, you see pride rock from the left side. In the second movie, you usually see it from the right.
They did this on purpose, for different symbolic reasons. Things like- they wanted to show that it was Simba's rule, not Mufasa's. And that it was a dark time, so everything was viewed differently.
Cool ey? 8-)

Pride Rock is the only reaccuring symbol in the movies that acts as a focul point of power at all times no matter who controls it.

I remember this. When I'm watching the TLK2 documentary, they tell us that Pride Rock is seen from the right side instead of the left view. This is because they want to show the represention of Simba's shadows in his life (the dark past that has been living inside of him during his rule and how that past made Simba think/do certain things that were complications). Pride Rock to be seen from the right view was to see the other side of this magnificant homeland that is beyond powerful to live around. I love how Pride Rock has symbolism to both TLK1 and TLK2.
