[PRIVATE] Two Families, One Exile

Kahvatu was about to speak when his father jumped out in front of him. He watched the two lions roar at eachother and yell. "Dad Stop! he wasn't gonna hurt me honest! he wasnt even gonna touch me!" Kahvatu trembled down into a crouching position. He knew that he would get into trouble anyway for running off alone.

Ardahi pointed a stern look towards Kahvatu and said ''Be still Kahvatu!'' He turned back to Mufasa, while still talking to his son. ''You should know better than to run off on your own and talk to strangers!''

Nala looked curious at the newcomers. Who are these lions? Why are they here?", Nala thought. She decided to walk up a little further to see who they were. "Hello...", Nala said softly to the cub. "I'm Nala, who are you?", she asked him. She wondered about them. She only knew the pride of lions she was with, no one else. Except Scar, who was an outsider in her eyes.

Sykara tried to chase away any thoughts of Kahvatu getting hopelessly lost in the forest. Or worse... "H-He'll be alright, Tanga. Of course he will," Sykara said to her son, in such a quiet voice that she didn't know whether she could believe that herself.

Before she could get any more worried about Kahvatu's disappearance, she remembered Ardahi's note to stay by the shore. It'll be okay...it has to be okay.

Edit/OOC: The first time I was looking over the RP this morning, I didn't read over Ivan's post clearly enough telling Sykara to stay by the shore, and wrote up a reply anyway where she followed them to the forest. Sorry about that, I majorly edited this, I hope it's okay, and that I didn't ruin the RP. :C

(( One note to NightyByeSparrow, how does Sykara know Nala's name? Basically they haven't met yet ))

Marini turned to her un-lost brother, "I'm sure he'll be okay." she said reassuringly, before her mischevous expression and tone kicked back in, "And then he'll be in trouble." she said and giggled

((Thank you for correcting, NBS, and it looks like we've been able to sort it out fast, so it's all good))

Mufasa looked at Ardahi, and was about to reply when he noticed Nala also trying to get a closer look at the newcomers. "Stay back, all of you!" he called, again shoving his injured paw out to halt any attempts at getting past him, trying to protect his small 'pride' as he coughed a few more times. He knew that his throat was not going to be able to take much more of this.

Turning back, Mufasa turned back to Ardahi. "I aplogise if it looked like I was threatening your son...I had just found him here, and was trying to figure out what to do, since he appeared to be alone. The reason he is talking with me is because I requested he show himself. I heard him wandering, and did not realise he was a cub."

He then decided to raise the question he really needed answered, although by now he fighting to put enough volume in his voice so that everyone could hear him. "Do you live here? We've been thrown from our former pride, and are looking for a new home. But if this is your land, we will leave peacefully...I've seen enough fighting recently." As he finished, he gave a loud sneeze, breathing heavily. He needed to rest...and fast, his condition was growing worse with each passing second.

----------

Tanga heard his mother's words...and also heard the hesitation in them, and knew that even Sykara was not convinced that Kahvatu was safe. He heard Marini's words as well, and wanted to smile with her, but couldn't do it, as it looked across the shore, searching for his brother.

"I hope he's okay...mum and dad keep saying the forest is dangerous..." he trailed off, his eyes swivelling back and forth as he search the beach any sign of his brother, and finding none, as he stuck close to his mother's side, silently hoping his brother would come back safe.

Ardahi saw how Mufasa was being very protective of his small pride, despite his current bad stance. He was rather impressed with how determined Mufasa was at it too,but he didn't fall back. The big lion had clearly suffered immense injuries and was coughing severely.
Upon hearing what Mufasa said about the whole situation,he raised his eyebrow, while thinking of what he should do now. Mufasa obviously didn't mean any harm, his son seemed to have confirmed that.Maybe he should give him a chance...

''We live near the ocean!'',he said while slowly bringing his guard down. ''You don't look like you could stand a fight against anyone. You should get some rest, come with us!'',he said while pointing a glare at his son. ''We will have a talk when we come home.'' he said to Kahvatu.

He turned around and started walking towards the exit out of the forest, while keeping his son right next to him. ''This way!'',he said to the strangers, while keeping one eye on Mufasa, hoping that his decision was right.

Mufasa's sense of honour made him want to protest Ardahi's offer, but as he fell into another coughing fit, he realised that giving the lion a chance to change his mind would be a bad idea. "Thank you, Ardahi," he said, hobbling awkwardly after the lion on his three good legs. "Come on!" he called to his group, beckoning them to follow him.

But as he turned to follow Ardahi once more, his curiosity reared its head. "Ocean?" he queried. "I've never heard of such a place...does it have anything to do with that smell I keep picking up...and that constant sound?"

Ardahi sighed when he heard Mufasa coughing so bad,he felt bad for him,but at the same time still didn't trust him. He hoped that he wouldn't regret helping him. That he wouldn't regret it severely... He remained silent after Mufasa thanked him,not responding in any kind, just not to show more hospitality than Mufasa should believe he is receiving. He knew that letting the strangers stay with his family might endanger them, but he was sure that he can protect them. Regarding Mufasa,he was not so sure about how he would do if they would get into a fight, considering that Mufasa would be at full strenght, but he knew that he could and would face him if the situation required it from him.
Ardahi whispered to his son: ''Don't turn your back on them,no matter how friendly they may seem.''

Upon hearing what Mufasa asked him,Ardahi stopped and turned towards Mufasa. ''Are you being serious?'',he asked while raising one eyebrow.

Sarafina looked from one stranger to another, not knowing what to make of any of them. "Nala, come here." she whispered, moving closer to her daughter, "Stay close to me,love." she added. She then glanced up at Mufasa, wondering what he was thinking. They had walked a long way and as much as Sarafina wanted some rest, she could not help but wonder whether they could really trust these strangers.
