Tanga shook his head at Makali's insistence that he had to stay behind. "Nonsense. If one of us can escape, we all can. There's no way I'd leave you behind in here alone, anyway."

he then sighed as he heard the cub's screams of pain nearby. He wanted to rush over and see what was causing him so much pain, but refrained from doing so...he knew the cub would not welcome his presence right now. "I do hope he'll be okay," he said sadly.

----------

Kulinda held fast as Daxis attempted to pull his paw away, pushing the leaf against the wound a little harder to try and stop the bleeding. The cubs screams of pain tore at her heart, and she paw her free paw on his shoulder comfortingly. "Shh...it's okay, Daxis...you're doing fine. The pain will go away soon, just keep strong for a little longer."

She kept the leaf against his wounded claw, finally succeeding in halting the blood flow for now, although she knew she would have to hold the leaf in place for a couple more minutes before she could remove it. She hated herself for causing him so much pain, but knew that, once the pain of the claw's removal faded, he would feel a lot better without the damaged claw than he had with it.

----------

Tyson watched as the lioness kept tending to the cub, even placing a paw on his shoulder in what appeared to be a comforting gesture. "I've never seen such behaviour from these creatures before. Not only do most of these lions have strange colour patterns, but they seem to be far more intelligent than any we've seen or even heard of before!"

Tyson had been studying the two males for the six months they had been in the enclosure, and the cub for the short time he had been in, but never, in that time, had they shown as much social complexity and intelligence as they had in the last several minutes. It left the young man mind-blown, not even bothering to put anything in his computer as he watched, completely fixated on the scene before him.

Makali just Tried to ignore the cries of the cub and layed his head down on his paws. he sighed as tanga replied to his sugestion. Makali shook his head again and spoke louder.

You have to go tanga somewhere out there someone is waiting for you... you know the life out there. I grew up here I know nothing about the world out there.

Makali looked in tangas eyes with a stern gaze.

--------

Daxis cried out more he knew the pain would stop but it did not happen so fast he had expected before the claw was out. More tears ran down his cheeks and he was afraid someone would see him cry. he lowered his head to hide it and pulled his paw once more but was hoping she wouldn't still let him go.
--------

Shane was speechless he studied not only this lions he studied them in Europe with some others as well. His knowledge was nothing in contrast to what played in front of his eyes. The lioness gave the cub something like first aid. Shane closed his laptop and leaned back to calm down and think about what he had seen.

Tanga nodded. "Perhaps someone is waiting for me out there...but why lose you to risk that? I may not have grown up here, but you're the only friend I've got...I'm not abandoning you, Makali" He then looked over and saw his friend's hard gaze. "Don't give me that look, buddy. I'm not going to leave you here alone, just so I can have my freedom back. I couldn't live with myself knowing that...it really wouldn't be worth it."

He matched Makali's gaze with a defiant one of his own. "Seriously, it's either you escape with us, and I help teach you about the outside world...or we set Kulinda and the kid free, and I stay back with you. My conscience couldn't let me leave without you."

----------

Kulinda kept holding Daxis close, the leaf pressed against his wounded claw, as she kept whispering soothingly in his ear. Deciding that if he didn't like it, he would let her know, she pulled the cub into a soft hug, wrapping one paw over his shoulder and rubbing his back soothingly. "I'm sorry it hurt so much, Daxis...but it had to be done...do you feel any better yet?"

Makali wasn't pleased with tangas words but was very glad to have a friend like him. but he wanted him free without himself. Makali did not want to discuss more but needed to ask him some more things and talked more calm.

But what if you have family out there... a mother or a father...? they would be so happy... please you need to go

He really wanted him to look after his family. Makali always dreamed about having a family an own son and a carting mate.

--------

Daxis calmed more down because his pain was slowly getting better after kulinda hugged him slightely. he was still crying low and pressed his head embaressed in her chest. Daxis had never thought that it would be so bad. His whole paw was hot because of the pain and the blood. His behavior was not because of his pain and daxis still hated the two males. but Kulinda already Had more place in his heart then his parents who always had beaten him.

Tanga sighed as Makali mentioned his family. "They may be out there somewhere, Makali...but where? Where could I possibly look for them? I don't even know where my home is, the chances of just randomly coming across it out there are next to none."

"Makali, please. It's easier if you just come with us...I know you don't understand the world out there...but it's not that different to being in here, only you aren't held back by all these barriers, and there are more prides out there. And whatever you need to know, I can help you with."

Tanga was determined to help his friend...his loyalty to Makali, who had helped him accept his place in here when he came along, was strong...he was not going to leave him alone in this enclosure, condemned to a mere shadow of an existence...it just was not fair on the white-maned lion.

----------

Kulinda sighed as Daxis rested his head against her pale belly, as she continue to comfort him. "You're doing really well, Daxis...you're really brave," she said softly, checking the leaf. finding the bleeding had stopped now, Kulinda gently removed the leaf and let his paw go, leaving the cub free to move around as he wished. "Daxis...can I ask you something? Why don't you like the other two?" she asked, looking around, noticing they were still not around.

Makali was interested in being behind the walls to get to know the lands out of the enclosure. He moved his gaze away from tanga up to the sky and grumbled.

I'm not sure about that.... I mean I like being here... kind of. I know when you are sleeping you are sometimes dreaming from being outside and free Again. maybe I don't want to go but want you to go. I'm thinking about it but.... you are going I promise you that.

Makali slowly stood up and started walking to the gates to have a look to the outer world.

------

Daxis put his paw down and licked a few times over the wound. He tasted his own blood and whiped away his tears trying to pretend cool. And when kulinda talked about the others he just growled very low

They betrayed me couple of times they are workiNg together paw in paw with this hairless monsters to keep us here. And the yellow one always tries to be kind. But I know he just want me to obey and if not they will make me sleep like last time.

Tanga sighed, before finally nodding. "No use arguing about it now, I guess...we'll see what happens if and when we manage to get Kulinda out," he finally said, laying down in the grass, trying to relax as he noticed the cub's pained cries had died down. "The little one's relaxed a little it seems...I think Kulinda might actually be helping him and his moods."

Sighing, Tanga's thoughts drifted to a possible escape, and what he would do if that moment came. Where would he go? What would he do? his cubhood was lost to him, and this world was really all he knew. Did he really want the freedom that filled his dreams, and many of his waking hours, too? Or was he, like Makali, so ingrained into this lifestyle of captivity that freedom would just overwhelm and destroy him?

----------

Kulinda considered Daxis' words. "How do you know they are working with the creatures? They never enlist any help, except amongst themselves...maybe the reason the yellow one tries to be kind to you is because he just wants to help you, and make sure you are okay. I've seen those creatures before...and they never, ever, use us for help. Besides, if those two are helping...then why are they trapped in this place as well, unable to leave?"

"I was scared of them, too when I first arrived here...but they're nice, and they're trapped here, too. The black one seems really intent on helping us escape, and I'm sure the yellow one wants to help...he's a quiet one, as far as I can tell. Look, Daxis, at least give them a chance...will you at least do that?"

Makali perked up his ears and rised his body. he wanted to know if Daxis is alright and had no pain anymore.
He stopped thinking about breaking out of the closure just continued worrying about the agressive cub and the behavior of the humans. Makali was disappointed they brought Kulinda in the enclosure. She wasn't up to Starv out there and was in company of her brother. He wanted talk to them so bad but knew they wouldnot understand him and he did not understand them.

Wanna see if junior is ok? He smiled towards his golden furred friend and made his way to the two other lions but very slowly.

-------------------------

Daxis broke up the eye contact and looked angry on the ground but could not be really mad at her after she helpef him with his broken claw. He didn't know what to say. He liked the lioness and did not want to disappoint her but he hated the two males so bad he could never accept giving tem a chance the small cub thought.

I...I think the yellow lion is just affraid of me and the black one... just... pretends that he is so kind. He... is so annoying he always wants to touch me and cheer me up but i don't want that. ...why should i give them a chance?

Daxis attached his ears and looked like he really did not know what to do. He never had someone o teach him even the basics like cleaning.

Tanga sighed, thinking that they should probably wait for Kulinda to tell them it was okay, but got up and followed Makali regardless, not saying anything. He was curious to find out how the kid was coping, and whether Kulinda had calmed down a little more. He hoped they both had, because he did not want to be on the wrong end of any of the cub's moods, and hated seeing Kulinda upset.

But no matter what happened, Tanga knew that they would just have to accept it, and try and adapt to it, and as he followed Makali, he prepared himself, hoping the cub would not throw a raging fit when they returned.

----------

Kulinda smiled at Daxis. "Because everyone deserves a chance, Daxis...everyone," she said. "I mean, think about it, if you end up being mean to them, all you're going to do is make them leave you alone...and when that happens, you'll be alone, and I doubt you want that. Sure, all of us want to be alone from time to time, but none of us want to be alone all the time. Just...give them a chance...just for a few days, okay? If you still don't like them after a few days, then you don't have to hang around them any more. But if you don't try, you never know what you might have missed out on."

She hoped Daxis took up her offer. The cub did not seem to like the two males very much, but he did not seem to have very concrete reasons, which made Kulinda suspect that Daxis had never tried to like them. She hoped he could get along with them...the more they four of them got along, the better it would be for all of them.

Daxis could not resist to put a little smile upon his muzzle when he looked at Kulinda smiling towards him.
For him Kulinda was a friend from the moment she helped him with that claw. It was really hurt like hell and she ended this for him. He nodded slightely and looked on the round not wanting hr to see his face in anger because of his decission.

Yes okay... but i still don't like them

makali arrived the two lions soon and put a smile on his muzzle as he saw the cub near the female one. He sighed and giggled bfore saying something in a calm manner.

Ah looks like everything had gone ok

He rised one paw and tried to carress the yong ones head cause it looked like he still had pain and were sad.
but Daxis was not he still did not like the two male felines and snapped after makalis paw.

Do not even think about it you freak! I will give you to fools a chance but don't even think about touch me! For Daxis it was more then enough and he jst pressed himself more against Kulindas chestfur.

Makali just pulled his paw back but did not back off. He looked up into kulindas eyes and smiled.

Wow... one day with the little one and he gives us a chance you are awesome ulinda

Daxis just interrupted him again while growling low just to warn him.

[b]Don't call me little one you pathetic fool![/b
