Kali saw that both Nala and Sarabi had pulled out, and was a little surprised that Sarabi had dropped out so early. But when she thought over it, and remember just how old she was, she realised that her body was not happy with these sort of exertions any more. Letting it go, she decided as the made it about a third of the way through the next to give them a taste of some of her worst. She picked up the pace once more, and although she was not sprinting, she was moving fast enough that most lions and lionesses would not cope for more than a few moments. She knew she was now moving faster than Uhuru's small body would be physically capable of achieving, but she did not expect her daughter to keep up anyway...she was free to back off when she wished.

Tanga kept going, even as he felt his body protesting wildly to the fast run Kali was setting. Every part of his body now screamed for him to stop, but he fought to keep going.
But the decision was made for him, when Tanga's unsteady gait caused him to trip over his own paws. Stumbling wildly, Tanga managed to hold himself up for long enough to throw the left side of his body, the least injured side, into the ground, stopping his wounds from taking the brunt of the fall as he slid to a stop, lying in the grass, panting hard, his body finally having enough.

Sarabi came up to Nala and Busara, smiling at them as she lay down, rubbing her sore limbs. "I'm getting too old for all this," she commented dryly to the two of them. "I should have realised my age would be a problem in this training."
