How would it be unlogical? There is no concrete evidence that proves Zira was afraid of Scar or that she wasn't. All we're doing is speculating here.

she is the mate of Scar, that is why I'd think it is unlogical to be afraid of him. Since they are on the same side they cannot be enemies or in different .... blargh my english XD

I dunno about you but if I was related to Scar in any way I'd be terrified of him lol. It's not at all unlogical for a lioness to be afraid of her mate, or vice versa. It's rare, maybe even unusual, but not unlogical. Being afraid of someone is not the same as being enemies with them. The hyenas feared Scar but were still loyal to him. Also keep in mind that Zira and her pack are a twisted bunch. Zira tried to kill her own daughter, and Scar felt no remorse in killing Mufasa. Therefore, Zira being afraid of Scar, if that was even true, is a possibility.

I understand what you mean. Zira was clearly in love with Scar and worshipped him. I agree that it doesn’t make sense of her to be afraid of him, especially not since she’s such a strong and seemingly fearless character. Zira is so intimidating in her own right, I can’t understand why she would be afraid of Scar..

But in regards to the first post, I think it’s a mix of anger and shock in Ziras face, not fear. She just slashed her own son in the face (and although I don’t think she feels bad about that) I think it was shocking to her to see the striking resemblance between Scar and Kovu now that Kovu had a similar scar.
Also, at this point Zira already feels betrayed by Kovu.. when she sees the physical similarity between Kovu and Scar, she’s even more shocked and angry upon realizing that although they’re similar in apperance, they share nothing in personality. (Zira had always believed that Kovu had the same darkness in him that Scar had)

While Zira is obsessed with Scar's memory and her old relationship with him, she may have feared him in the back of her mind. Fear of being betrayed like he did to his own brother. If not even family is sacred to Scar, what is to say she was? But, she was so obsessed with him I think she only saw part of the potential threat. Her expression, when she sees Kovu's wound, is probably from utter shock. Surprised that he is a mirror image of her past mate and all but deity, but also angered that he betrayed her and that he shared none of Scar's darkness that she was so convinced had taken residence in him.

Just to go a bit off-topic here (hopefully this won't be seen as spam X3), but looking at Amanda and TG's conversation up there, and say that it is possible to be scared of your mate. Like say if Scar said to Zira, "Be my mate or I'll kill you and your family!"... if you were Zira, what would you do? Not that I'm saying this event happened, I'm just pointing out the fact that it is possible to fear your mate. Rant over =P
