Kokota watched the lionesses prepare for the hunt. He enjoyed sitting back and taking in the big picture of things. Throughout the years, he has become a great listener. He especially listened to Kovu. From his eyes, Kovu was the most experienced leader a pride could have.
Kokota smiled. He headed off to patrol the borders. As a subordinate pride male, he had a duty to patrol the edges of their territory to ward off rouges and other dangerous individuals. Sometimes it wasn't enough. He could remember one time a rouge had come into the pride lands and started bothering the lionesses. The rouge was big enough to give Kovu a good challenge, but in the end Kovu defeated the rouge and he ran off to another pride somewhere.
Queen Nala was lost. She had escaped Kopa's home grown prison and was on her own. The injuries had healed up, but she was slim and very hungry. Even the bugs are starting to look delicious in this King-Forsakened land she thought to herself. It truly was a horrible place, it was beyond the desert and beyond the jungle. It was miles and miles away from Pride rock. Yet she staggered on, hoping that the jungle that she had found Simba in would offer her a better environment. Oh...Simba It was as if a lion had scraped her belly up. The feeling of loss was overwhelming. She would be bombarded with old memories the moment she would step foot in the jungle. The whole place would be so reminiscent. So sacred. Her very first time. She collapsed under the pain from the memories. Perhaps I should continue no further... she began. No. I must get to Kiara...to warn her....before.....
