Presentation

A random thought occured to me about the Presentation of a new lion cub..
Is it just the heir to the throne that gets a Presentation, or does the number of cubs and the order they’re born not matter?

If we assume for a second that Mufasa and Scar were born in the same litter, on the same day.. Was only Mufasa Presented because he would be the next king, or did Scar get presented as well?

And the mark that Rafiki puts on Simba and Kiaras foreheads.. would Scar get that too, or is that for crown princes/princesses only?

What do you think?

Good question. I would assume that all new cubs get that, as a sort of initiation into the Pride; no one said anything about Simba being the future king when he was presented.

...I feel kind of uneasy about imagining Scar being presented. xD

I always thought of it as a future heir to the throne being the ones presented... because I don't know if/why they'd bring together all the animals of the Pridelands for just some random lion cub otherwise. Maybe they did, though, but I would think it would only be such a celebration and presentation if it was a cub that was to rule over them one day, or perhaps at least had a good chance of doing so.

I think the animals would get sick of trotting across the savanna every time a lion cub was born....I would imagine it happens quite often in a pride that size. I believe the presentation is for the princes and princesses of the Pride Lands.

I think I agree with Moka here. As well as the fact that the mark Rafiki rubs on the cub's heads, I always thought that was like a crown.

now if you would kindly scroll down to the part where we first see infant Simba, you'll notice that it says, "Rafiki puts the juice and sand he collects on Simba's brow-- a ceremonial crown."

Snowy: Actually, Mufasa says that to Scar after he was a no-show at Simba’s presentation, lol

YFWE: Yeah, I would think only the crown prince/princess would get a presantation, not every cub in the pride.

PK091: That’s a nice thought. I like to think of it as something that sets that cub apart, shows the cubs status in the Pride.

I always thought that the presentation was to announce who will be the next king on the Pridelands

I personally believe they show off the young princes and princesses, future kings/queens or not. Because if something happens, one of them would have to take over, right?

i would think its just the heirs to the thorne. as i dont know bout you but if i was in the svannah i would hate walking just to see another normal cub being born

Oh yes, there's also the fact that all the animals bow to the young cub- would they do that with an ordinary cub? I think not
