Tanga smiled up at Dixon, letting him know that his curiosity was not taken the wrong way. He felt a strange desire to talk about his past, anyway...he found it helped him vent his frustrations. "More like trouble with my entire pride," he corrected sadly, before ploughing on.
"My birth pride is one of those introverted ones that sticks rigidly with the ancient traditions. I never liked many of those traditions, especially when I accidentally met a rogue who talked about a place he came from...I think his name was Kopa, but I can't remember for certain..."
He realised he was drifting off-track, and went back to his story. "Anyway, my parents were firm believers in the traditions. They almost disowned me and had me killed several times...but I somehow pulled through. Then, of course, I hit maturity, came of age, and tradition dictated that I was no longer welcome in the pride...and that I had to find my own way in the desert bordering our pride."
"I would have welcomed the exile, actually...if it weren't for Kiburi. She was the one who constantly convinced the king and my family to accept me every time I was given an earful for my refusal to adhere to certain traditions. She was my only friend, and...I miss her, I guess."
Tanga stared at his paws. He felt a little better for finally being able to vent to better part of his life's frustrations, but the memory of everything that had happened still saddened him. And Kiburi...
Tanga sighed heavily. Looking back up at Dixon. There was little point dwelling on his only friend in his former pride, since he highly doubted he would ever see her again. He offered the white lion a weak smile, forcing himself to move on.
