This type of bug actually exists, surprisingly. 
It's scientific name is the Pyrrhocoris apterus or Fire Bug, and it's pretty common in Europe and western Asia.

The one to the right of Timon's head kind of reminds me of a red fruit bug, but I could be mistaken:

I love it when you find all these little details in movies, that the creators leave behind for little or no apparant reason, just as little shout-outs.
Like SH said, I've never really noticed it fully, but I think a few of the bugs have caught my subconscious attention at the very least.
