Hey all. It's been quite a while since I've been on here and I figured I'd come back and see what's changed, what's the same, who's still here, ya know. I'm a college student who was born in Chile and raised in DC and, despite not having been born in DC, still considers himself a DC native. I'm majoring in criminal justice and I'm currently an intern with a State's Attorney's Office. I'm also working on my first two novels: Manhattan South and Northwest (the former is a cop thriller following an NYPD detective from Manhattan, the latter is also a cop thriller, this one following an MPD detective who works in the Northwest quadrant of Washington, DC).
Favourite Music: I love symphonic metal: Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, Within Temptation, Epica, and Magica soothe my soul. However, that doesn't mean I don't listen to other genres--I'm a big fan of Coldplay, The Killers, Snow Patrol, The Soundtrack of Our Lives, and now 30 Seconds to Mars ("This is a call to arms / Gather soldiers / It's time to go to war...").
Favourite Movies: My favourite Lion King movie would have to be the original. Despite having an initial grudge against 1 1/2 (III in some areas) destroying some of the epic moments of the first film, I actually do find it humorous. As for Simba's Pride? It has it's moments. It just seems a bit cheesier than the first one. Non-TLK movies include Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Ice Age, The Last Samurai, and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (epic movie. I wanna see it again.).
Favourite TV shows: Big Cat Diary (also known as Big Cat Week), CSI: NY, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami (though the cast is starting to become really weird now. I miss Rory Cochrane and Khandi Alexander...good thing Adam Rodriguez is coming back), ER, Mythbusters, Wolf's Rain (still angry at the ending of this one...), and The X-Files (it lives! I tell you, it lives!).
Favourite Authors: Linda Fairstein (Alexandra Cooper series), Patricia Briggs (Mercy Thompson series), Margaret Truman (Capital Crimes series), and Alexander McCall Smith (The No 1. Ladies' Detective Agency series--NOT GIRLY, I SWEAR!). I also like James Patterson's Women's Murder Club and Detective Michael Bennett series.
As for the reference to a cheetah, my RP character (should I choose to take part in an RP here--I have a hectic schedule during the academic year) would be a king cheetah.
