Was Scar Healthier than Simba?

Actually, the darkness of the mane is only one half of the equation. Generally the healthiest lions are determined by the darkness and fullness of the mane. Clearly Mufasa and Simba both have Scar beat in the second department.

Also, Scar's build doesn't change from the time when the Pridelands are lush and green to when he takes over as king. So you can't really blame his scrawny physique on the lack of food during his reign.

Eh, I don't really have a theory on this at all. I didn't know that fact. But, I suppose that..yes, Scar was healthier then Simba. Why? Well, because he could easily push his strong built brother off a cliff. And with that, he is stronger then he really looks. And plus, Simba had just grown up. His mane gets a bit darker in SP though.

Well, pushing Mufasa off that cliff didn't really take much strength, I'm sure. Mufasa was a big lion, so I'd imagine gravity took care of most of the work there. :P

I think that if they were the same age then there wouldn't have been much of a difference in health. Scar might have been healthier even because he ate the natural diet of a lion unlike Simba. He wasn't young to begin with and when Simba returned he must have been really old which would have had an impact on his health.

About the Scar's mane, i think it is black just to give him a evil aspect.
Mufasa and Simba are always represented like kings, so they need a healthier appearance; but Scar represents the envy, so he look different than the other lions.

I think Disney was just ignoring scientific facts. In reality lionesses are more attracted to lionesses with dark manes so with that logic, Sarabi probably would've mated him instead of Mufasa. XP But getting back to the topic, I think Simba is healthier. He's well filled out and fairly muscular while Scar is really thin and lanky and doesn't look like he eats all that much.

Your own signature banner shows thats not necessarily the case, since Kovu has a dark mane but is definitely younger than Simba.
