"Score" is often used as another word for "soundtrack" particularly when a movie has two accompanying soundtracks.
A prime example (pun intended) is "Transformers"
-The "soundtrack" contain music by various artists (Linkin Park, that sort of thing) that was used in the movie
-The "score" is the version of the soundtrack where all the orchestral magic Jablonsky creates goes.
It's a way of avoiding confusion
The Lion King - The Complete Score is sort of an "unofficial" soundtrack, that contains a lot more of Hans Zimmer's magic than the "original soundtrack" provided.
I, in no way, possess or even understand any sort of musical notation...although I'd love to learn! Epic orchestra soundtracks...I just want to create one of my own!
