Well, as those above me just pointed out, there were rocks blocking Simba's view of Scar ;)

Mufasa's thoughts were probably very loud and confused. Disbelief and fear. I don't think he was able to think of anything clearly, and likely - being a devoted father - he was mostly thinking of Simba and fearing for his safety/life, now knowing what Scar was capable of doiunga´and likely knowing that Scar had done it all.

Simba didn't see what Scar did. He only saw his father falling. From where he was at the time, there seemed to be no way to see way up there to Scar and Mufasa's spot. But when Scar whispers the truth into his ear in the end, I think is a sign of that subconsciously, Simba had always/for years, suspected it. The way his memory is shot from Mufasa falling, shooting up at the child Simba, and the adult Simba then reacting so, so quickly. He had to be super quick, because Scar probably meant to throw him off the cliff immediately. So, I think he didn't see anything crucial at the moment of the kill, but thtoughout his years of exile, events from the past came together, subconsciously.

My third discussion may seem nit-picky, but would Scar really be able to throw Mufasa that far out from the cliff with the grip he had?
Scar probably added a throwing motion when he let go to make sure Simba fell back into the stampede, and since Mufasa was weak at the time he probably wouldn't be able to land well or resist falling.
During the final seconds of Mufasa's life, starting right when Scar digs his claws into Mufasa's wrists, what was running through Mufasa's mind? I would expect he realized what Scar had been up to, but do you think he knew that Scar would also drive Simba away from the Pridelands?
I think that Mufasa was more focused on what Scar was doing, and then as he's falling he remembers that Simba is still there.
Also, when Scar was busy making his impression on Mufasa's final seconds, Simba was right there watching the whole thing. We know this by his horrified expression and scream as his father fell from the cliff and into the stampede below. And yet, even after seeing Scar throw Mufasa into the stampede, he never realizes that Scar was responsible until Scar himself admits it to him.
Simba did try to forget about that, and Scar did do a good job of convincing him that it was his fault, not for what Scar did but for the whole circumstance that led to his death.

I don't think there was enough time for Mufasa to fully realise what was going on as it all happened so quickly. Also,I imagine he was shocked, and when you're shocked you can't really think. Your mind goes completely blank. But I definitely think he was thinking of Simba and Sarabi when he fell :(

How does Scar know that Simba didn't see him kill Mufasa? O_O

He makes Simba feel bad, but how did he figure out that Simba never saw what he did?

The second Scar realized that Simba was under Mufasa's paws he said, "Simba, what have you done?"

hmmmmmm... O_O

SIMBA DIDN'T SEE SCAR KILL MUFASA, PEOPLE! SIMBA ONLY SAW MUFASA FALLING AND HEARD HIS CRY! WATCH THE SCENE AGAIN! Please?

anyway, what i meant in that question above was that when Simba found his father dead and laid with him, crying, in the gorge and Scar came and found them both.

Scar can be so hurtful! Even though he wasn't treated fairly in the past, it doesn't mean he had to make such awful and selfish decisions!
He not only killed the king, but he separated a son who loved his father so, and vice versa.

A child's mind is very impressionable and especially if they are under duress. Scar knew this and took full advantage of Cubby Simba's weakened state of mind. Scar was also much higher up on the cliff so I'm sure he had a bird's eye view of where Cubby Simba was. The same couldn't be said for Cubby Simba as there was that outcrop of rocks that blocked his view from what happened.

Well, I always thought that rocks were blocking Simba's view of Scar, and that he only thought Mufasa just fell. That or his mind was spinning so badly he couldn't possibly believe what Scar had done, the uncle who he had trusted through all his cubhood...
And onto Mufasa's thoughts, looking at the expressions on his face, I'd say that at first he was wondering 'wildly' about what could happen. When Scar finishes his infamous little line, I think Mufasa has a look of disbelief and horror on his face. When he's falling, he finally realises Scar's intention, and yells not only in fear, but also in betrayal.
On that note, Mufasa did have a chance of saving himself, if he hadn't asked Scar for help. I'm certain he could've pulled himself up, I mean, look at the scene in TLK2 where the Pridelands are burning; Kiara managed to do leap up... and we all know that Mufasa's like, one of the strongest lions that ever lived =0
