i think that the chances of us being the only life out there are slim to none... but i also understand that if there are others out there, there has to be a reason they haven't contacted us recently

That's what makes me skeptical about there being really, REALLY advanced intelligence out there.

But still, we are just one planet out of, what, 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 out there (I'm not sure I put enough zeros on that, to be honest), so I guess we would be fairly easy to miss.

Maybe they haven't made contact because they fear we will wage war or something... Think about this, look at Earth from an outsider's perspective and you'll see terrorism and a planet that barely makes 2 years without starting a war.

Lol that's exactly what my custom text is talking about when it says I'm "disillusioned to humanity"

Humans think they are such a clever and dominant species, when in reality we're selfish, corrupt, power-hungry and self-destructive. I have very little respect for my own species, hence the "disillusionment"...the various other animals we share this planet with hold my respect in much greater quantities.

Flip: No, there is a chance that there was life on Mars but I am not sure if there is such a thing as "Aliens" There might be but.. I don't think there is (on my opinion)

Most likely. There are still billions planets out there that remain undiscovered! To me, it seems impossible that only Earth has life forms in it.

I know it is your opinion, and i'm certainly not saying you are wrong. Any life on any other planet than Earth is alien lifeform, not just ominous beings that may or may not resemble us. The term alien acounts for anything that doesen't belong to Earth. Alien life accounts for any living thing from another planet. Mars isn't even the only planet to possibly have life on it either.

I don't know really.

I believe the UFOs, abductions, strange lights, and all that crap are either bull or governments experimenting with stuff. and I certainly don't think there are any little green guys with big eyes or anything. seriously, I've actually had an UFO encounter with my cousin in a parking lot once, and that still hasn't convinced me that aliens or anything are here.

but since I am religious, I think there is something in the Bible that does suggest that there IS other life out there somewhere. I haven't got to read this for myself just yet, so that's part of why I'm not sure. and I guess that would make sense for them not to contact us if our planet is the only one that's been corrupted and has sin it...although they could be watching us and we just don't know it 0.o

I'm sort of like that, but that doesn't mean I HATE humans, otherwise I'd probably have wasted myself aaaages ago heheh...
What I mean is, I just think that other creatures could be more... I dunno what the word is, something along the lines of special?
For example dolphins, horses, owls, butterflies *but NOT moths*
You know, creatures like that.
Butterflies especially.
